I had no idea that phones like this exist. It is the best thing I ever discovered and bought via Amazon. Easy to set up and use. The captions are saved for later use if needed. Voice mail is also built into the phone without any need to setup. If call is not answered it is automatically transfered to voice mail with messages converted to text and saved. Six volume levels for both regular receiver and speaker. Be aware that you must register and certify a hearing loss before this phone will provide closed captions.

Bigger than I expected which is great for my 97 year old mom. Regular phone she could not hear on. This new one is perfect She can hear clearly and also read. Messages that are also saved in text if she needs to reread. Ringer loud which is perfect for her. Easy setup. Had my grandson do it , contacts in phone for easy dial. So glad I ordered highly recommend if you have loved one with poor hearing In setting we opted for auto which has worked out great it is very easy for her to operate and answer

This was a gift for someone who can not wear hearing aids and has severe difficulty hearing. This product has been a link back to communicating with people. At 85 he doesn’t want to learn confusing technology and this product was a breeze for him to set up and use. The customer service was outstanding in getting us over a hurdle which required us to reset our router after using an incorrect password. After that, everything went smoothly and the options are great for adjusting sound tone and volume. Everything about this phone is exactly what he needs. I didn’t attempt to get this for free under one of the special programs and I am just glad he is so happy with this very stylish and functional means of communication.

This item is not compatible with UK systems. It should not be marketed to UK. What a waste of time and money to ship from US and back when a few words of text could have saved the hassle and cost. Im not the first and probably not the last to find this out the hard way.

I had this phone sent to my father who is very hard of hearing but does not go to doctors so he does not have a hearing aid or a diagnosis. He returned the phone saying that he has to be “certified” hearing impaired or he would be arrested for using this phone. I saw one reference in the description to contacting the FCC but nothing mentioned about this restriction. Is this true? And if so, please make that clear in your advertising. My parents have already returned the phone.**Update - at the same time I purchased one for my father I also purchased one for my mother in law who was living in assisted living. She had hearing aids and a diagnosis, however the phone would not connect with the internet there. I contacted the company's customer service. They did try but didn't have any idea how to resolve the problem. I had them work with the technology person with the residence's administration. They were also unsuccessful. If you are reading this because you have someone who needs a captioned telephone and does have hearing aids - I recommend you discuss the matter with their audiologist before purchasing anything.

I bought this phone for my nearly 98 year old dad who is very hard of hearing. We had some trouble with the set up. But, we used our cell phone and called the 800 number on the program literature so they could walk us through. We spoke to an amazingly kind man named Daniel. He took us step by step through the set up. Even helped us troubleshoot some problems. This is important. My dad has internet phone service which is good. His main handset is in the livingroom plugged into the wall jack. We thought this phone could be put there and simply take it's place. It won't work quite like that if you want the ability to caption the calls. It MUST be plugged into the router with the included cable, or they can't get the captions. Then you plug it in to the back of the router into the phone jack. We were able to use a splitter on the phone line so he could keep the extension that he is used to using in the living room. Daniel walked us through the registration process, which is required for this type of phone. You must ackowledge that the user is hearing impaired. I did not know this, but the way the captions are done is that there is actually a person connected to each call who actually types the captions. The Federal government pays for the service. Some type faster and more accurately than others which is why some calls seem easier to read. Anyway, lots of good features to this phone. He just needs to practice using it. The proof will be if he continues to use it now that I am back home (3 hours away).
