I read the reviews before purchasing, and was ready to trim the frame down to fit the unit (See pics of how much bigger the head unit is compared to the frame Alpine ILX-W650) then I had a brainwave! Does it fit sliding in from the back and it did ZERO trimming and fitted perfectly! My 2000 Porsche Boxster had the 490 optional extra which powers the speakers from the built in amp rather than speaker connections, but I am very happy to say that the kit came with the necessary adaptor to convert the unit to preouts, so just plugged the preout head unit into the preout connectors and then connected the dashboard yellow connector to the adaptor and flawless connectivity, I am so glad I went with the option with cables rather than just the conversion box. Also the kit came with full instructions to fit to Porsche, which I was surprised about, and it was an easy hour installation. The AC relocation frame fitted perfectly, it takes a bit to relocate the cables for it, but it was much easier removing the centre console by removing 4 x T20 screws, then just slides out. You have to trim the Porsche dash for the unit to fit (If you dont have factory fitted nav) but with care and sharp knife you can trim and keep to removed parts to glue back in the dash at a later date if you really want to. I would 100% recommend this kit, I searched before buying and the next cheapest kit was $150, so this kit is a bargain! The only questionable thing is that it is impossible to fit the two brackets after installing the unit in the dash as per instructions, but the fit is so good you dont need them.

I really like the way it looks but I must say a double din will take a lot of modification to make them fit. I tried several. But when you are finished looks good

Does not fit 2001 Porsche BoxerCut it totally apart trying to make it work going to have to order again definitely another brand

I own a shop and we build some wicked cool cars. I ordered this kit for my 2001 boxster. After pulling all the over engineered German parts out, (who makes a cup holder like that ) I had to trim the opening just a touch but after that it looks factory. Pieces are good quality a sturdy.
