Did not fit the Jeep TJ the way it is supposed to. They could be mounted, however the steps would be at a 5 degree angle. Not good.

Nice sturdy step. Easy install. The only criticism I have is the mounting brackets leave the step tipped very slightly in. This could be remedied by shimming the bracket or elongating the holes in the brackets. Not a huge deal, but I expect model specific accessories to fit perfectly. Overall very pleased, just missed a 5 star rating.

instruction call for a drill two different size drill bits and a hole punch.......i do not have this equipment and was not aware that i would have to drill holes in the jeep for installation, i thought they mounted to the under frame, why else would it matter what style and year of the jeep? slightly irritated..........

Bought my new 2009 Jeep Wrangler because I'm getting old and don't have much time to enjoy an old childhood fantasy. The machine came with running boards located at door level. My old legs just did not want to get me up and in. I found the part number in the CARR web site and ordered through Amazon for about $50 bucks less.Stripped off the running boards and started to mount them as per the instructions. Found that in my haste I had looked the part number for Wrangler TJ not wrangler JK. Oops! A trip to the hardware for some spacers and longer carriage bolts fixed that. The steps appear well made and are cast apparently of some aluminum alloy. They hang with about 10 inches of ground clearance. Plenty for me but I can see if you were a serious off roader they would sooner or later catch a rock or log.I like them and it has improved the entry significantly into the cab with my tired old legs. These are the 10 inch wide steps. As soon as I can find them I will change them out for the 20 inchers though. Amazon does not carry these. I will re-mount the 10 inch steps for the rear doors when I find the wider steps.Again... Off roaders beware. Folk that just want to use your Jeep to haul your boat to the lake and do chores might want to consider these. Be sure to look up the part # on the Carr web site. The 102552 part number is for the pre 1967 Jeeps.
