I gave it four stars because I have not been able to test it very much. It fits the South Bend 10k perfectly. So I suspect it will fit the 9A also. Fit and finish is good like all my Edge Technology items I purchased in the past. It is easy to install and remove. The homemade units and magnetic base work okay, but do not fit as well as this by Edge Technology.

I like this product. Good quality but mine didn’t come with offset indicator tip shown in advertisement?

I like this carriage indicator. It saves me a lot of time on lathe work. For my Enco 12x36" gap bed lathe I had to shave off a little bit of material for it to fit properly and avoid hitting the rack gear piece.

After fighting for years with trying to find a solid spot to stick a magnetic backed indicator on the ways of my engine lathe without it getting knocked out of position, I was thrilled to see this new tool from a popular manufacturer. It mounts solidly to my lathe, and the indicator stem sits in the PERFECT spot to contact the carriage. No more worrying about if my dial indicator has moved or not after a slight bump.
