This is a fun piece of retro tech with real function behind the nostalgia. The radio stations come in loud and clear, and the speaker sounds surprisingly good for something this size. I don’t have a cassette to test yet, but the radio, Bluetooth, mic input, and headphone jack all work as expected. If you’ve got a pair of old wired headphones or need a workaround for devices without a headphone jack, the 3.5mm port comes in handy. The output level indicator lights up dynamically, which adds to the visual appeal, and I like that you can control Bluetooth tracks with physical buttons. It runs on D batteries or plugs into the wall. There's no USB-C charging, but that fits with the throwback design. That said, there are a few drawbacks. The plastic handle feels like the weakest part, the chrome finish looks a little cheap, and some of the plastic slider edges weren’t cut very cleanly. I also wish the volume knob were on top—it would be easier to adjust. Still, it sounds great, covers all the basic functions, and nails the retro look.Sound: 5,Volume: 5,Features: 5,Design: 4.5,Quality: 4.

Got this for my mom. She wanted to listen to her casettes. This little radio has decent sound and output. I love that it allows you to record your voice. Nice little size. Good buy

I was hopeful that this Box would have a clean option to play cassettes and dub them to a thumb drive. And it does - and works pretty well, once you learn the commands. But the FM Radio is marginal. It is not a digital tuning radio , and tuning the dial is painful finding that spot that a station is clean and clear.Just an observation.

The GoodVery, very loudGreat quality soundFM tuner is very strongAudio level lights are true to signal - meaning they react with the audio signal the same no matter the output volume.Cassette player works with acceptable WOW and Flutter and good quality sound.Bluetooth connection is fast and stable. The look and feel of the tuning dial is nice and firmThe cassette mechanism and door are high qualityThe audio level lights look high qualityThe tuning face looks high qualityAll of the labels and writing have a nice clear fit and finishChanging the bass and treble settings produces extremely noticeable changesThe BadThe build quality of the materials used is very low. all of the buttons, switches, and wheels either have visibly rough edges, or are not perfectly even with the device. The front of the speaker grill is printed chrome and cheapens the way it looks because it is not a smooth surface, so the chrome looks pitted and uneven.Even with 6 D batteries installed, it feels lighter than it should. The tuner is digital, so even though it has a wheel it does not reproduce the feeling of tuning on an analog radio. This will still switch between stations without much static in-between like any other digital tuner. It will also not tune in to stations that do not have a clear signal. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to realize.OverallGreat retro boombox that just needs to be made with better quality switches and wheels, and no fake chrome. Everything you want is there and sound is loud and thunderous and very surprising. It would be 5 stars if it was 29.99 as it is and it would be 5 stars at 49.99 if they used higher quality switches and such. That being said, 4 stars.

This Kuephom radio/cassette player comes awfully close to getting everything right. The sound is powerful and full, and it offers many audio playing and recording options. There are even flashing sound level indicator lights to round out the retro feel. I've not seen any other audio unit available for anything close to this price that sounds as good or works as well as this one.First of all, this thing is bigger than what you may think. I checked the dimensions (12.3"x4"x10") before I got it but it looks and feels bigger than that, probably because it's got some weight to it. I've gotten some other currently-available radio/cassette and boombox players before and they have been smallish with puny speakers and so-so sound. Not this one. If you are familiar with the original GE Superadio, the sound and size are very reminiscent of what you got with that. Powerful bass along with crisp mid-range and treble, plus separate bass and treble controls so you can tailor the audio to your liking. And, it gets loud without distortion. If you're looking for something to take outdoors to a worksite, beach or party, this is the one.Radio reception on FM is right up there with the best radios I've seen. It's both sensitive and selective, bringing in distant stations and keeping stronger stations from interfering with weaker ones close on the dial. AM reception is decent but not as good as FM. Local and even reasonably distant AMs come in fine, but on the weakest signals it's a notch below a really sensitive AM radio. Tuning is made easier and more precise by the large tuning wheel on the side of the radio, which is recessed into the side so you don't bump it by accident. Shortwave doesn't seem to work as well as AM and FM, but it does receive some signals.Music sounds impressive when played from a USB drive or streamed via Bluetooth from a phone or other device. I've got other Bluetooth speakers, some costing double what this costs, and I'll put the sound from this unit up against any of them. The cassette unit plays old cassettes with the best fidelity they're capable of and even makes good quality recordings from the built-in microphone or from USB or Bluetooth. But recordings made from the radio to cassette don't sound as good. It seems that the audio from the radio comes in too strong and sounds somewhat distorted on the tape. But if you want to record off of the radio, you can record directly onto a USB drive with this - a useful capability to have. However, managing the files you record is tricky. When you record to a USB drive, this unit will create a folder on that drive called AB_REC. Recordings are saved as separate files in this folder, but then when you go to play them back, this unit cannot find that folder. You have to put the USB drive into a computer and move the recordings into a different folder. You can just create a folder with any name of your choice, and then the player will recognize the recordings, which are incidentally in excellent fidelity - virtually indistinguishable from the original audio. Given the high quality of the recordings you can make, it's a shame this glitch exists because it would be nice to be able to record something and then play it back without having to go through this extra step. It's also possible to use this as a portable PA system by connecting a microphone that has a 3.5 mm plug. I do not own such a microphone so I was not able to test this capability. You can power this with the included AC line cord or with 4 D-size batteries. If you are playing it loud for extended periods I would suggest plugging it in if possible. With the amount of audio power you have here (5 watts RMS according to the specs) it would probably go through batteries fairly quickly. This is a well-built, excellent performing audio system that sounds impressive and looks the part. While it isn't absolutely perfect, it's a nicely-finished piece that stands far above anything else like it that I've seen for this price.
