Very good wok. My Chinese food improved 100% because of all around bottom heat. I preserve the pan w a bit of oil after I wash it. Many uses so far

Great little wok for a single person or smaller family. With a little care, it should last quite a while. Yes, the pan comes ready to cook straight from the box, but that does not mean it is a 'fire and forget' style pan. You still have to (gently!) hand wash it, make sure it's absolutely bone dry (devoid of water), and lightly oil it (inside and out) before storage. Though it supposedly doesn't necessarily need it, I went ahead and seasoned mine using a seasoning wax stick and an hour in the oven at 450 degrees, for each layer.Something to note, while this wok is advertised as being "cast iron", I don't believe it is. The construction and weight are all wrong for such a material type. It is not at all thick enough to be true cast iron (necessary to ensure against cracking of the extremely hard but brittle material with sudden thermal changes), it shows none of the typical micro-pitting of cast iron, and the construction, itself, is all wrong. Normally, a cast iron pan is cast all in one piece with the handle attached, instead of it being riveted or welded on separately.I believe this wok is, instead, carbon steel, which is slightly more preferable for its intended style of cooking. This wok has a nice thickness for that material type, is slightly thicker at the bottom, which is also preferable, is light enough to wield with one hand, and does, indeed, have a separately attached handle. The wooden 'helper' handle is a very nice touch as well. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase.

This wok is a really good size and easy to use. It feels substantial but not too heavy, and it has a handy "helper" handle so you can use both hands to lift it if needed. The cooking surface on the inside is pretty non-stick with a little oil and cleans up easily. As advertised, the interior is ready to use out of the box and has not had even a spot of rust so far. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the outside of the pan. I was disappointed to find several rust spots on the bottom honeycomb after only a few uses. So, lesson learned. You'll want to treat the bottom as you would any other cast iron and dry it thoroughly after washing.
