Love the flat bottom and defined flared side. Frittatas, omelets, any sort of egg is better in this than in a pan that has more of a curve from the bottom to the side. Cooks evenly. Browns, sautés, whatever is needed.

I like everything about this pan except the polished sides of the pan are hard to clean if you should cook an egg and part of the cracked egg stay on the shiny part of the pan during cooking. It was a bear to clean the pan. I still like the high quality pans.

Love everything about this Viking 8" fry pan. It's perfect for cooking eggs any style or for sauteing onion or garlic. Obviously not a large capacity pan. IMPORTANT to note. This pan does not require high heat. Medium heat will serve for almost any cooking. Also important : Do NOT spray with cooking sprays. That will ruin the non stick surface. Take time to read the enclosed brochure and to season the pan and you'll have great success with this little treasure. I have the 10" and 12" and love them as well.

The weight distribution is just right so you don't have to worry that this smaller.pan will tip over. Cooks eggs wonderfully and evenly. Excellent quality!!!

We have purchased many brands of pans over the years and this one is top notch. It works extremely well on our gas stove. Heats evenly and the size is great for a grilled cheese sandwich or a small omelet. When cooking a meal for one, or needing a small pan to sauté onions and/or mushrooms for your steak - this pan is the ticket.

Over the years I have run the gamut of frying pans from lightweight titanium camping, gear through aluminum, cast iron, and steel. I can say w/out a doubt that this is the excelsior of frying pans. The high quality steel cleans easily and the non stick inner surface encourages the contents to slide-out or flip-over with only a hint of encouragement. The sides are curved just right, although my old All Clad had as good a curve. The contents can be wiped out with a paper towel, and the pan is ready for another couple of eggs, flap-jacks, fried grits or whatever is next on the menu. The only issue I have is that the angle of the handle is steep, comparatively. It certainly keeps it away from gas flames, but took a bit of getting accustomed to use. It flips fine.

Good pan for everything. Nothing sticks, easy to clean, and a good weight. The only complaint I have is the handle is so heavy and long it pulls this pan off the burner and I have a induction stove so it's important to have the pan flat on the burner. Once you put food in the pan it fine. I like this pan, so besides my complaint I would buy it again.

This is a very good 8" pan. Solid construction and now my go to egg pan in the morning. Absolutely no metal utensils and wash gently with hot soapy water and rinse. Now the reason for 3 stars instead of 5 is the extra long handle on such a small pan. This is a design flaw as the pan will not sit flat on the burners of my stove. The handle is extra long and the weight tips it back even with food in it. I have to lean the handle against my toaster oven next to my stove to get it to sit flat. And that works for me, but if they would have either shortened the handle or hollow it out a little to reduce the weight, maybe it would sit flat. If they fix that issue, I would get 2 more of these. But I only have 1 toaster oven, so i can only use 1 at a time.
