This should be zero stars. It was dinged up, someone had bought it and returned it before me, knicks and scratches all over it. It is also missing 2 shelves. The pieces don't line up, they are different sizes. Terrible instructions.

The instructions are HORRIBLE, starting with step 1 as there is no indication what side is "up" and the panels are not square. The sides do not align correctly as if the wood is warped. I made the doors work with my own hardware as the provided is not good. It was missing a bolt to attach the scratching post, so there was no way to attach what might have been a nice accessory. What should have taken a couple of hours was a full day project, but once it's out of the box, it's not going to be easy to send back, so you either make it work or waste your money. There are likely better catios out there, so avoid this one.

Before I started I used 4 cans of exterior clear spray paint. Wood comes with a light stain no sealant.STEP ONE1. metal mesh goes on the inside2. Piece 20 is flush with the bottom and the edges of the narrow side of the panel.(mine came with predrilled holes on the other side of the narrow side of the panel)STEP TWO3. The narrow edges of the panels are attached together (mine came with predrilled holes)4. Front 2 panels are 63 inches high when attached5. Back 2 panels are 61 1/2 inches high when attached6. Both side panels are 63 inches on one side and 61 1/2 inches on the other side when attached.(My side pieces were marked backwards)STEP THREE7. Use the platform with the 6 small predrilled holes. The wood brackets came with predrilled holes to attach to the cage.STEP FOUR8. The side panels should be 61 1/2 inches on the back and 63 inches on the front.9. Make sure the small pieces number 16 should be in the front.STEP FIVE10. The bottom platform (#8) has a large hole in it.11. I turned panel 8 and panel 17 around and drilled a matching hole in panel 8 so that I could attachthe scratching post on the top and the bottom. (I got another screw. I have a very big cat)12. I attached platform 17 before the bottom (#8) platform so that I would have the correct amountof space for the scratching post.STEP 713. The predrilled holes for the hinges did not line up so I moved the hinged toward the center andmade my own hole to attach them. It takes two people to do this step.STEP 814. The picture shows 2 latches. Mine came with 4. I attached all 4 for security.15. I did not attach the hooks and pins because I will have no reason to use the little sliding doors.16. I turned the cage upside down to attach the wheels.*** Make sure that you are not trying to attach the screws where they run into the screws in piece 20*** I shortened the string by half and stuck it to the top of ceiling where it would hang free.I have put together half the furniture in my house and this was hard and frustrating!Took 3 days to put this together from painting to attaching the wheels. It is sturdy now that it is togetherRain puddles on the roof even with the slant*** My cat loves it!UPDATE: I covered it with a clear coat and the paint is still chipping off a month later.

Be very careful while screwing all screws during installation! Wood will splinter and pieces break off easily! Pain in the butt to assemble.
