I do this on a daily with boats there are rons of cheaper versions. But dont waste ure money or risk ure engine to save a dollar! Buy this CDi brand box . several used over 5 yrs and not a failure. Quality part good price for piece of mind

I have always used CDI aftermarket parts. I have replaced many switchboxes without any issues.

Used this to rebuild a old merc 50 and it worked perfect. If you are looking for a ignition pack you will see some priced from $45-$300, it is worth it to get this over the cheaper ones but I dont know that I would get the OEM one as the only really difference between the CDI and the OEM parts are the housing, you need a ground wire for the CDI since it is plastic not metal. also CDIs support is get if you run in to issues.

Tossed it in, problem solved. Don’t waste time on the cheap one like I did.

I used this as a drop-in Switch box replacement on a 1992 Mercury 4 cylinder 40. It is labeled well, so even a monkey could install it. The only difference from the OEM was the case is plastic instead of aluminum so it came with an extra ground wire you just connect to one of the bolts that holds it. Worked well and saved money :)
