One of the best hackle pliers for tying small midge patterns. The soft spring action helps tying without breaking small, thin-stemmed hackles. I also use thae larger size pliers & love them.

The design is quite innovative and clever, and it helps prevent hackle twisting. Its drawback (and a big one it is), is that the tips of the jaws are so small they often fail to hold the hackle, the primary job of the pliers.

These hackle pliers work great, especially tying with partridge feathers. Takes hold of those tiny feathers on 12 and under hooks.

I have all the high end pliers, Stonfo, Cottarelli, Petitjean, and the other C&F tools. This is by far my favorite hackle plier. It feels amazing to use, and has superior clamping force.

Just a solid tool. I got it directly from Japan and it was well worth the wait. I own both midge hackle pliers and they are worth the price.
