This is a great choice for a Throttle Quadrant, especially if you are looking for a budget solution. It doesn't feel cheap, but one thing I noticed is the plastic assignment caps are quite hard to remove. You have to give them a pretty good tug to remove them and put on the desired replacement. I is very solid on the desk after you anchor it down with the supplied two clamps......it isn't going anyway believe me! It is plug and play on my Xplane 11 using my imac computer. All you need is a spare USB slot. The new hardware is immediately recognize when launching Xplane and I love how you can assign the six paddle switches to a task. I have mine as shown with labels. The throttle levers are quite close to one another, but you can't expect a more pro model of quadrant unless you pay about $800.

I debated for years about how much hardware to get for flight simulators and how much it would add to the fun of the games. After considering the alternatives I have to say that CH products are just great. They are built to last, and with USB, they are easy to configure. This throttle quadrant is fun. It simplifies multiple engines. We use CH pedals and a Logitech joystick. All together they work very well. Sim flying was abandoned by Microsoft, but the old flight simulators work just fine, and still are enjoyable as a break from the first person shoot em ups. I think it is worth the money.

I am a certified flight instructor who was looking to keep my skills sharp during periods of flying inactivity. I purchased Microsoft's Flight Simulator X and started to assemble the necessary hardware to complete a reasonable home flight simulator. I purchased just about everything Saitek makes (yoke, rudder pedals, 2 radio stacks, throttle quadrant, annuciator panel, auto pilot,....) but wasn't satisfied using the "levered" single-control throttle/prop/mixture control for multi-engine work (Beech Baron) that is provided with the Saitek yoke "kit." So, I ordered CH's throttle quadrant. After downloading the driver off the provided CD, I plugged in the USB connection and much to my surprise, this device was truly plug-and-play. I didn't have to fuss with the settings (something I can't say about the Saitek controls...) . It worked immediately as I hoped it would. I should mention that it took nearly a month to receive the device after I placed my order. If you're in a hurry, good luck with that. The controls themselves are a bit flimsy and you have to pull past a light detent (reverse thrusters for some applications I assume) in order to achieve idle on recip engines - not a big deal really. That's all of the negative things I can come up with for now. Overall, it works, and satisfies the requirement to get your hands moving on the right controls at the right times. Could the quality and feel of the device be improved? Sure, for more money. Knowing what I know now that I've used the device I would definitely order it again.

I was very excited ordering this product, amazon delivered it very quickly and i was very happy that it arrived much earlier than i expected. After i opened the box i arranged the axis nobs according to the setting i wanted and plugged it in. My first delema was when i took out the "software" cd and found that the highest OS it has is windows XP, sadly my OS is windows 7 64bit. So i went to CH's site and downloaded the closest one i could find which was for vista 64. Well, i installed the software and my throttle was detected and it seemed ok. I do not own a registered version of FSUIPC so i had to manually set the reverse thrust, so far it was ok....Suddenly the settings went haywire, the first throttle jumped 50% up at idle and then slowly everything else went wrong with the throttle axis. I immediately contacted their support and they replied in about 2-3 days asking me for my sensitivity. i tried replying to that person on the next day (friday) and i kept getting "undelivered" emails. so i tried again next tuesday and my message went and i havent heard any reply from them even until today, if it wasn't for the CH forums that i found after a long search, i found someone that had a similar problem and followed the solution then it started working properly. So yeah if you are using Flight Simulator X and windows vista 64 or windows 7 64 you are very likely to get that problem. Solution is to just run fsx and go to "calibrate" then click on the CH throttle and do not calibrate, just click on the top left tab then click "Set to default" and then click ok and close fsx. After that go to the CH control software and then calibrate it there and then run fsx and it will work fine. For the reverse thrust you can just assign "throttle (Decrease quickly)" to the button that is activated below the minimum of any of the axis or just buy and register FSUIPC and you dont need to assign anything.

I've had this product for a few weeks, and I absolutely love it. It performs exactly as advertized, and it makes any flight simulator so much more realistic than using the "throttle" on a joystick (I have pilot's licenses for both fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, as well as multi-engine fixed wing planes, and I'm instrument rated as well). The throttle quadrant is easy to program (so much so that it takes under one minute to reconfigure it for a different aircraft), and has the feel of a throttle quadrant one would find in an actual small to medium sized aircraft. And it makes taxiing those very old style multi-engine aircraft so much easier, as many of them do not respond well to their rudders at taxi speeds, and many of them don't have brakes, either. I am completely satisfied with this device, and I would gladly recommend it to anyone who wants a more realistic simulated flying experience. The only drawback it has, in my opinion, is that it must be clamped to a table edge, but that is such a minor drawback that I am still willing to recommend it without any reservations whatsoever.
