The item I received does NOT look like the pictures. There are NO instructions on how to reset the combination from 0000. The website only shows pictures similar to the one advertised. One of the other reviews here shows the same version that I got and says to push the cable in to reset the combination - the cable does NOT push in. There are no other buttons to push or prod. It’s a total failure for a security cable.

My workplace bought several of these locks and received the cheaper-looking version a couple other reviewers have shown(-1star). These do not come with instructions(-1star), but for those wondering: they can be reset using the same method as the pictured, but by pushing the cable itself inward to activate the reset mechanism.

As another reviewer, I received a different version of the product I ordered with no instructions. No obvious place to reset combination, so currently I am stuck with the default 0-0-0-0. Frustrating!

I have this locking down a security camera DVR. provides a great solution and is easy to install. The epoxy adheres very strongly and I cant pull it apart. It is in a closet and its a bit dark so the numbers are a little hard to read when trying to unlock it. Luckily I don't have to unlock it very often. But I guess this makes it hard for a thief to deal with as well

STEER CLEAR DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME We used the Amazon return form to dropped send at UPS. After returning this we opted to buy another brand key version anti-theft security lock online at Amazon. My biggest complaint with ChargeTech product is the pin that you push in when setting is so low profile, it slips when you are setting it. Also, their chat line was closed when we tried using it. Add to that their 800 phone number led us no-where either, just a place to leave a message. In a matter of 6 hours trying every step including online support and videos, this product was so discouraging that we returned it. We tried all avenues to resolve and keep product to no avail. I must add that the lock and unlock icon is very small and hard to read, and not diagrammed on their instructions which is literally printed in 5 point type. ChargeTech has a ways to go, materials seem quality, but more fine tuning to go as a company, customer service, and product design. The design and finish looked nice from a color perspective, but really deceiving as the pins inadequately align and pressure the re-set button is not adequately designed.

I have purchased over 100 of these units to secure devices in storefronts as well as business who lend them to employees. These locks are awesome. The quality is second to none. The lock mechanism and cables are tough and have a beautiful finish. The pad uses a 3M adhesive that very durable.Would strongly recommend to anyone looking to secure a device.

It's all about deterrence. If someone really wanted to get your phone this would not stop them. With a wedge tool you can remove this in two seconds (I did when transferring it to a new device). Your hope with this is to deter casual thieves, or to require them to take a little more time so that you or someone else will notice what is happening.The lock includes little spacer rings to ensure a tight lock, which are nice so the lock isn't as easy to snap off. If you are able to do so, I'd recommend using super glue instead of the included adhesive because it's harder to pry off.
