Needed a cherry pitter, and thought this was a good one at a good price. Seems good, worked, but have to make sure it lines up each time or gets caught on the frame before pitting the cherry.

I can’t imagine making jam without a pitter. This one was easy to use and easy to clean in the dishwasher.

I purchased Cherries with pits by mistake so I ordered this Cherry Pitter. Very inexpensive and works like a charm.

I don't eat cherries, for exactly the reason that they have pits. Too much work for me (amazing, right?) which is why I don't make cherry cake. But my husband likes them and so he eats them raw by the bucket full. I thought I'd make his life easier (and try to be a good wife by finding an easier way to pit them so I could make a sweet treat for him) by getting this cherry pitter. He used it the first day, even before I could wash it, but says that it sprays a little as the pit is forced out of the fruit. I guess it needs a lot of strength if you're gonna use it for olives (another thing I don't eat/cook with for the same reason as cherries.) It fits well in the hand, though, and the mechanism works easily to de-pit the fruit. He just uses it over a bowl. And it's not like he's wearing a tux to do it either, so the stains aren't that much of a problem, but we're working it out. I think if he uses a bowl big enough, the spray will just stay in the bowl. We'll see. Just got a new bag of fruit this morning so he hasn't had a chance to test the theory. However, I washed the pitter yesterday in the dishwasher, and it worked great. It did not distort or anything from the heat, which is a win. Because you can tell I'm lazy and don't like doing extra work, like washing kitchen items by hand. So yes, this is a good-looking item you can use to pit cherries and olives, just be wary of getting juice on you. Maybe you could try it wearing an apron? I'll try that if the big bowl theory doesn't work out. "A" for good-looks of the item and the fact that it actually works well and is easy to hold/wash. But I'm reserving my A+ until we work out the juicing spray issue.
