This nesting box is the perfect size for my chickens. I appreciate the generous 12” x 12” nesting boxes this allows.This was a little odd to put together because not everything lined up perfectly and the largest bottom piece was slightly bowed. With a little muscle and accuracy I was still able to get it together with no wood splitting or screws showing through. Just be sure not to use a power tool on a strong setting and don’t over-tighten.This nesting box doesn’t seem to be very durable but it sure feels comfier than the metal ones we’ve previously had. I do also have ours sitting on a bench we designed for nesting boxes to sit on. I think if I had to attach this to a wall it wouldn’t hold as well. But being set on something really adds structure and strength.I think this nesting box could be a better value for the trouble with assembly but am very pleased with it and my girls have loved it so far!

It looks good. Assembly was fairly straight forward. I wasn't confident that it would hold-together long term, so I used carpenter's glue to strengthen every place where one board meets another. We ordered this a few months ago and, with my additional joinery, it's held together fine.Our chickens don't care that there's extra nesting room now. They all just wait for one box in particular. Typical!We want to build a new coop eventually. I'd like to use this box in the new coop, too.

Honestly, these might work for bantam hens. However, whoever designed and made these does not know chickens. Full grown hens can get heavy and need more room to nest than the space provided here. Also, the wood is too thin and dry wall screws were sent to use in putting it together which of course causes thin wood to split.

Screws ripped through as holes were wrong and wood flimsy. Still got it put together cause I'm handy but oen hen broke it in 15 minutes. I'd give it minus 5 stars if I could.

First one star review I've ever written on Amazon and close to 10 years. If it had zero stars I would give it zero stars. Absolute junk, came broken, terrible quality, not even wood if you ask me. Never even seen a quality would like this in my life. Nothing lines up. Holes are all wrong. Sizes are all wrong. Good luck if you order this!
