I was searching for a way to have real flexibility in making a cleaner water source for my chickens and their varied housing. These cups are perfect for that. They are incredibly easy to place on whatever reasonable container suits you. I personally wanted something small enough to hang and to fit in a 1-2 bird enclosure, and easy to clean or replace. I ended up making mine out of a simple soda bottle, cut with some tape edging for safety and to balance the top half. Cutting, taping, drilling, and then placing the cup all took less than an hour. It's been up now for several days, and it's still functioning fine. No leaks, no shifting, and the water feed is reliable. The bird adapted to the cup immediately, and her water has been SO much cleaner since changing to this set-up. Add in the price and how many come with it? It's a relief to know I have back-ups, or more to just experiment with if other ideas pop up. Really good product.

So much easier for chickens to get to their water than the other cups with the yellow pecking trigger (have no clue what you call that thing??). This way the watering cup never goes empty unless there's no water available. We use these on schedule 20 PVC, place them on either end of the pipe so that we can use pliers to tighten them and then hook it all up to a rain barrel that catches rain water from the coop roof. It is so wonderful to not have to water my chickens every day, it's like a self licking ice cream cone! We've had these up in a few of our coops for a while now and they are super durable, they work amazingly and are worth every penny. Just not having to clean out and refill a water bowl that's loaded with dirt and poop.....sooooo worth it!!!!

These work well as long as the pressure is low. I initially connected to a faucet splitter and had it turned on as low as possible, but it still ultimately creates full pressure at whatever your faucet is. Ran it with half inch drip line then the small lines into the cups. Couple couldn't handle the pressure. That said, I'm connecting that line to a 5 gallon bucket and putting a side entry float valve that can handle the water pressure, and then hanging it from the shed roofline. Should create enough pressure to fill them, but not too much. They fit right through the chicken mesh hole, so they're secured into the chicken coop side mesh.Inexpensive option to setup auto watering.

I bought these for my babies and they work great. I have enough extra that if one was to break i can replace it. I put these down low on a 5 gallon bucket and my chickens love it. To clean it i just swipe my hands in it in a scooping motion and it gets it pretty well clean. If need be you can hold the bowl up to stop the water as you clean it out with a cloth

These little cups make for a great chicken waterer, when combined with a kitty litter bucket. My litter bucket has a flip top, so the water stays clean inside. The chickens can, and do, perch on top of it, but when it's full of water, it can't be tipped over. You could also mount the spouts higher and set it flat on the ground to prevent tipping, instead of using a plant stand to elevate, like I did. This set of six water cups comes with the correct size drill bit to use to make the holes for installation. Each cup has a wingback screw and a silicone gasket on it, ensuring a tight seal. The wingback screw goes on from the inside and the gasket is installed on the outside of the bucket, behind the water cup. This project took me all of 15 minutes to complete. I did not measure to see if my cups were level to one another or equidistant, because my hens don't judge my exactness. I only used four of the spouts, and will be making another bucket with the two spouts remaining as a gift for a chicken lady friend of mine. This set was super easy to install. Ridiculously easy. It made me question why they sat on my counter for two weeks with me dreading the project. I'm not really a handy gal at all, but I can use a drill. This is the only skill you need, besides common sense to not hurt yourself while drilling. I did take a box blade and cut the extra plastic bits off that the drill left behind. The way the cups work is based on gravity. The cup tilts as the weight of the water flows into it and it stops when the cup is filled. It's a very simple function, and a very easy solution to getting extra water to your birds this summer. The cups are made of hard plastic, the screws are of a good thickness, the plastic wingnuts seem to be durable, especially since they'll be submerged inside the bucket. The little silicone gaskets are of good enough quality to keep the water in the bucket and not leaking out. Highly recommend. (I blacked out the name brand of the cat litter bucket on my pictures so my review doesn't get pulled for advertising the brand.)

I got these to use on 5-gallon buckets that I keep filled with water during the summer as watering stations for birds and bees around my yard and garden. I also have chickens and ducks but they can use the ones that require pecking or pushing on a lever to dispense the water. These only depend upon the water level to work so I know even small birds and insects will have no trouble with them. Two notes of caution ... If you have squirrels or other rodents in your yard, be sure to check these daily because they are made of plastic, and squirrels, especially, love to gnaw on the edges of plastic containers. That can't be good for them! It also means your waterers may stop working, so you need to be vigilant. The other thing to be aware of is that small birds and bees are very susceptible to fungus problems like mold and mildew. You MUST keep these scrupulously clean and the water fresh or you could be doing harm to the very creatures you are trying to help.
