Good design. Hefty, with thoughtful organization of shelves and drawers.Structural components are mix of press board (resin impregnated paper) and real wood, so, do not overtighten screws and hardware lest rip out screw holes or create buldges/crack exterior surfaces.On receipt, review all components for warped wood.Closely inspect tabletop for red spots and imperfect finish.I had to sand tabletop to bare wood, fill manufacturing defects with wood filler and refinish the surface.I recommend adding glue to better secure tabletop as folks will lift structure by tabletop edges.

Often when we buy things online that have to be assembled, we tend to think of the places we buy things where one day 14 boxes show up on your front step and it takes you two weeks and three engineers to put it together. This is actually very simple, easy to do and it looks great. Highly recommend it’s good quality construction

It took a while to install as I wanted to make sure I didn't strip anything in the MDF. The instructions were clear and everything was labeled/numbered so I had an easy time finding everything. Been using it for a few weeks while I'm not prepping food on it, the top is holding well as an extra countertop when I run out of prep space.

This island buffet cart is better quality than most available. I got it on a special with free delivery which is hard to find on large items. I put it together with my friend in one hour. The directions are very clear and they label “pay attention” - maybe they’ve updated instructions recently. I love that the door is an auto soft close. The drawers are sturdy and quiet. I’ve already spilled coffee on the top and it didn’t soak in! Love this!

3 stars / 5 — would not purchase again(see below for tips, if you do choose to purchase)This island is sturdy, has a lot of useful storage space, and is small enough for a small kitchen. Unfortunately, it uses 20th century materials & design, so it's much trickier to assemble than it needed to be. The quality of the materials is also merely adequate or worse.I chose this island because it was one of the few small-footprint options with both drawers and shelving that would allow room for an InstaPot. Fortunately, once assembled, it manages this adequately.Unfortunately, there are a lot of imperfections in the paint (scratches, very noticeable touch-ups, and uneven coats, including one that was repainted yet left tell-tale signs of the previous color).The assembly is a nightmare. The step-by-step directions skip some important steps and worse, use drawings that make it really challenging to figure out how the parts are meant to be placed. My actual time spent on assembly was reasonable: 1.5-2.5 hours. But it took me over 8 hours to complete the project, because I had to keep comparing the images to the parts and their orientation.Worse, it's really easy to make a small mistake that will require you to go redo several steps, and that can be really frustrating.Next time, if I want discount furniture, I'll go with that four-lettered Swedish brand. For around the same price, the quality is much better.For those who do end up buying, here are a couple of tips:(1) it's a lot easier with two people, even though one person can manage.(2) Have at least 2-3 sizes of Philips-head screwdrivers.(3) If you have the space, lay out all the wood, in groups that match the instruction pages, since the piece numbers bear little resemblance to the order-of-assembly.(4) As noted in the most helpful review, be careful with the brackets for the drawers. There are four pieces that separate into two parts each: the thin bit goes on the drawers, the longer/fatter on the island.(5) If done correctly, you'll have lots of space between the back of the cart and the edge of the bracket.(6) It's a lot easier to install the door before the drawers. It's also easier to attach the door hinges to the island first (and then to the door), especially if you're left-handed.(7) Double-check the door and the drawers before installing the top.(8) The butcher block is by far the heaviest piece and *much* easier to install with two people. (Careful for your fingers!)

I bought this for my studio apartment and only wish i purchased it sooner!... Feels like a real kitchen countertop and wheels make a portable island if you need to move around the kitchen. I keep mine in one spot and the countertop is beautiful and very sturdy. Cabinets and shelves are actually really spacious.ONE ISSUE was building it... Took 3-4 days with 2 different people and it was very easy to miss a step and then later need to reassemble it correctly before continuing (this happened with the drawers, that part was most difficult to assemble) I REGRET NOT ALSO PURCHASING ASSEMBLY BECAUSE BELIEVE ME YOU DON'T WANNA HAVE TO BUILD THIS YOURSELF IT COMES IN ABOUT 30 PIECES AND 6 BAGS OF PIECES, REQUIRES A POWER SCREWDRIVER DRILL OR SCREWDRIVERS BUT WILL TAKE MUCH LONGER. We also could not carry the heavy box upstairs so we had to carry piece by piece . The delivery came 4 days after expected and 1 day after the latest arrival day.. The box also had the wrong color label on it and scared me because i thought they sent me navy blue instead of white i ordered. In the end i would recommend this product it looks great after the hassle.
