These are cute but very small. While they have no issues hold empty stockings on the mantle, I'm not confident they have enough weight to hold up a stocking full of goodies.

They are really quite pretty and well made, but they were touted as having a surface that would hold them on the edge without slipping off. I actually bought them to drape my lightweight tinsel on the wooden fireplace mantel. (a smooth surface). They would not stay in place. I had to finally use double sided tape to keep them from sliding off.
