I have ordered the “D” twice now and have gotten it like this both times. Sent one back, my husband had to bend the second one which caused the paint to peel off but it’ll at least work to hold a stocking now. Side note, the “C” only stands up right with the stocking hanging.

The bolt is too high to attach the base to. All the other letters in the set I was able to use..but now I can use any of them at all bc I don’t have the full set.Bought another one and it was delivered with the same problem!! Threw the whole set away and starting from scratch

This is a nice christmas option, but it relies on fitting around your mantle to hold it in place, because its very lightweight. The letter and the base are separate pieces, and connect with a tiny little nut that ins included. You won't want to hang a large stocking on this, or put anything in a small stocking or this is going to come off your mantle. But if you just use it as a decorative piece, then it can work well.

I wish I had read the reviews. I ordered an R, a D, and an M. The D is not usable. Too short to reach the screw. Not sure what I'll do to replace it. Guess we'll send them all back.

I love the look and simplicity but it is light and definitely could only hold an empty stocking. I wish there was a tool included to tighten the nuts holding it together,
