Clarkspoon fishing lures are designed for both salt and freshwater fishing. They are fast acting, have lifelike motions and can be either trolled or cast. A hands down favorite for Spanish Mackerel, Blue Fish, Striper, Ribbonfish, Blackfin Tuna, and other game fish. Clarkspoons are chrome or gold plated, equipped with built-in swivel with red beads and have stainless steel, saltwater hooks. Clarkspoons are hand-rigged in North Caroline, USA.

Trolling Planers - Multiple Sizes Available
Clarkspoon Trolling Planers are designed to take your lures to subsurface depths without the need for heavy trolling sinkers. Connect the mainline from your rod to the ring and connect your leader to the grommet on the planer blade. Deploy the planer at a 45 degree angle and let out line to desired depth. When a fish strikes the lure, the planer will "trip" and rise to the surface.
Sizes #1 and #2 planers are often trolled on rods and reels spooled with line ranging from 20 to 50 lb. test. This has the advantage of allowing the angler to quickly adjust the distance and the depth at which the planer is fished. A #3 planer will require a substantially heavier trolling rod and 40 or 50 lb. line. Be sure to set your reel drag just tight enough to pull the planer without slippage.

False advertising. This did not come with the hand line. Only the leader, plainer and lure. So upset....

The Clark spoons are great except the hooks break. I've had them break on strike, while hooked on my rods in rod holders, in my garage while taking them off.The manufacturer said the are aware of the quality issue but should have recalled and fixed them.
