Seat is padded which is nice but putting it together was UGH! Comes with all the tools and a plastic hammer which was 100% necessary to put this together. The arm rests were difficult to get into place and had to hammer the top to get arm rests to properly fit about 200 times and I'm pretty darn strong, so that was annoying. Overall, for a cheap chair, it does its job. I wouldn't buy again though because the process to set it up isn't worth it. I'd rather buy a pre-set up metal padded folding chair.
