Do they work-you bet! We trained our mini schnauzer (8 months old) to use these in two days by touching her nose to them enough to make them chime. We started by holding a treat behind the bell to get her close enough so WE could bump the bell and make it sound. So every time it chimed she got a small treat-we use Blue Dog Deli Meats Beef from Chewy.com with each piece cut in thirds for a "small" treat. Quickly she was timidly touching it with her nose and we would treat her even if she only touched it but didn't make it chime. Now she skids over to the door banging on it repeatedly until you come and let her out. We've switched the treat from ringing the bell to if she potties she gets the treat when she comes in. We make a big deal out of praising her that she potted and give her her treat. Sometimes if she is dilly-dallying we tell her to go potty so she can get her potty treat. Works every time! She does her business quickly and runs up to the door anticipating her treat. Love this bell idea. Before we got it I would set the stove timer to remind ourselves it was time to take her out. Now she tells us when.

I bought this for potty training my dog, but it didn't work very well. My dog would use it to signal her excitement about going out, but not to signal when she needed to go out. By the time she started figuring out how to use it, she was fully potty trained and smart enough to only use it when she was bored and wanted to go out or get my attention. It looks nice enough that around the holidays it blended with my decorations, but all other times of the year, people would always ask what that thing on my doorknob was.

We are so pleased with this for one of our dogs. We have a Yorkie and an Olde English Bulldogge. Our Yorkie is 3 and our Bulldogge is 1. We should have gotten these when we first got our Yorkie but I had never heard of them before. We trained our Bulldogge on how to use these when we got him at 4months old and he took to it so well. Our Yorkie is stubborn and won't use them but our Bulldogge was super easy to train on using these. The only problem is that he now knows that ringing the bell means he gets to go outside so he will ring it whether he needs to go out or not. So now we are working on re-training him on these. Not a fault of the bells so that's why I rated them so highly. They are an excellent house training tool. I would just recommend you get them and start with your dog when he is young. If you are training an "older dog" (because 3 is not old) on them they can't be stubborn like my Yorkie or you have to have an infinite amount of patience.

Overall I am satisfied with my purchase of the jingle bells. In my view potty training a puppy with the bells is so much easier. We started by hanging it on our door and when we took our little fur ball outside we would ring the bell. He quickly caught on and by the next day was ringing the bells to go outside.Pros:~ Easy training~ Loud enough to hear in the house~ Snap on the loop to hook to accommodate any door knob~ long enough so a small dog could reach it when hanging from a door knobCons:~ The strap is thin. I wish it were thicker like a leash, but it is more about the thickness of a ribbon~ The only real con for me is often our pup likes to ring it just because he wants to be outside. When he rings it for that reason even if he was just out we still have to take him out.

This product is a great value. Worked like a charm. Took our puppy about one week and she has mastered this. Love the bell training process. Just wish she didn't ring it so much now (Yes, she rings it and then waits for us to come to the door and then doesn't want to go outside) but hopefully that will get better over time. It is still worth it since we have only had one or two accidents since she caught on. She rings it a lot and it still looks great and so far is really holding up.

This is a great buy! I've seen similar ones in the pet stores for at least twice as much, if not more. It works great, easily fits on the door handle and is the right length to train any sized dog. I've got a Bugg - hybrid between a Boston and a Pug and he uses the lower bells when just using his nose or paws, or uses the middle bells with his paws. It's a great potty training tool and comes with easy to use directions. Highly recommend it for use as a training aid and also for the cost and quality. It also arrived very quickly using Amazon Prime and was packaged appropriately without using unnecessary, excessive packaging.

The bell works well and the height can be adjusted, there is a snap that can be undone and there is a 2nd place where it can be re-snapped to make it a little shorter. I have another one of these bells which is almost the same, for some reason though my dog (a Yorkie) prefers the other bell, the only difference is that the other one has a little piece of rope under the bottom bell. He doesn't mind hitting the rope portion, but he doesn't like directly hitting the bell, so I modified it a bit to add a little extra to the bottom. He still prefers the old bell, but will cautiously ring this one as well. It could just be that he got accustomed to the old one.For the money, this is an excellent product and I would recommend it if trying to potty train your dogs. It has lead to far fewer accidents, though our puppies are on a schedule, there are times when they just need to go and need a way to easily notify. Training was fairly easy with a few treats.
