This knife is quality and reminds me of the mora knives but with a more ergonomic grip. Good for edc and just daily cutting tasks. Holds a razor edge. Don’t listen to knife snobs crying about Cold Steel knives being made in Taiwan this isn’t 1985. Some of these countries can actually produce quality cutlery if they’re vetted properly and marketed by companies like Cold Steel, Sog, Kershaw etc.. If you want a higher end knife by all means buy one but for my money this knife and knives similar are the ultimate general purpose light duty knives.

You can't beat the price, and the knife is razor sharp like you would expect from Cold Steel, i own a few Cold Steel fixed blades and they never disappoint. The knife is very light, it can easily be put into a backpack or hidden on your person, the handle feels rubbery and makes for a comfortable grip. The sheath is on the cheap side, i can see it being and issue in the long run, if you are using this for protection, but for general use its adequate.

Immediately upon receiving my Peacemaker III I put it to hard use beating it through a 15" long X 2 1/2" piece of seasoned poplar. While it did manage to split the wood it was really too short for such work. Next I held my hand and the handle under running water.I then stabbed into a 2 X 4. There was no slipping of my grip. This is a full tang knife, made in Taiwan, with German 4116 Steel. Though normally I would much prefer wood scales on a knife I wouldn't change any thing about this knife.Pros:Very comfortable in either hand, however it is held.Skillfully ground and a nice even factory sharpnessBoth the knife and sheath appear to be a tough and durableLightweight: knife 3 oz, sheath 1.25 oz.Through a clever design the knife slides easily in and out of the plastic sheath and locks securely in.Excellent quality metal clasp with a super grip. I would dive into a lake with this knife without any fear of it getting lost.Cons:None. A pairing of this knife with the Peace Maker II would make an unbeatable pair

Pretty good so far. I've had it for a little while now and have been using the heck out of it. I like this knife because I wanted a fixed blade EDC that wasn't overly large to cause alarm or stares.I just managed to break the tip today after whipping it several times into a chunk of Fir firewood and making it stick in an old, broken chair. I was able to use a file to get the tip back to a functional point with a file. This test was not a practical one but I wanted to see what the knife could handle, the tip still was intact and unbent after quite a few throws into the fir log so I'm sure with practical use this blade should hold up just fine. As with any tool - misuse will indeed break it, basically no matter how durableI'd like to test this knife a lot more to see what abuse it can handle because I do like it quite a bit, it was very sharp out of the box and maintained its edge pretty well with extensive use. The scandi grind on it makes it fairly easy to sharpen on a stone even for an amateur knife sharpener such as myself. The knife is extremely light (My edc for now) so don't expect to use it to chop, but I was able to shave down a cedar plank to get it to fit on a fence (Keep in mind cedar is soft) pretty much like cutting through butter. The handle is rather small and took some getting used to, but now seems fine. I do like the grip on this blade, it should not slip with water but something more slippery like blood may be different if you were to use this as a game preparing knife.EditOverall this is a nice knife for the money, it stays fairly sharp after decent use but the steel isn't the best for extended use. I've since replaced this knife with something a little nicer but it still remains an excellent part of my collection. I've recently been using it for food prep, as it's thin enough to slice tomatoes and onions easily and I like the nice rubber grip that wont slip when I'm cooking.I would say this is a good knife to throw in your glove or tool box as a backup, it's good for food prep and light wood tasks but not much else.

I bought this to carry as a backup to whatever "main" blade I may be using on a given day. In that role it is excellent. The sheath grips the knife securely, and the clip on the sheath grips your boot, belt, pants pocket, whatever you may clip it to, meaning that when I draw the knife, it comes out and the sheath stays put. I had some initial confusion as far as the hand guard part of the handle, thinking it was part of the sheath, and trying to push against it when drawing the blade. This isn't really a design flaw, more like user error. But it's something to be aware of. I would have liked the sheath to have more carry options, such as slots to attach straps, but again that's not so much a flaw as just personal preference. The clip is extremely grippy and does a fine job at keeping the sheath in place. I can attest that the knife is indeed "shaving sharp" out of the box. Generally speaking, this seems to be Cold Steel's answer to the Swedish Mora. I'm not sure how it stacks up over time, because I've had my Moras for a lot longer. I've only had this knife for a couple of days, so I haven't had much chance to really abuse it yet. Took it on one six-mile hike so far; no complaints. A joy to carry for long distances. The overall first impression is quite favorable. It fills the role for which it was purchased, and makes me that much more excited to buy its big brother, the Peace Maker II. If I run into any issues with the knife, I'll try to remember to come back and update the review. For the price, there's really no good reason NOT to buy this knife.Update, June 2016: Still no problems or complaints. I've bought the big brother to this knife, and I actually like that one even better. This smaller model has been relegated to a small emergency preparedness kit, in which role I think it will perform capably. These Peacemakers are designed to be versatile and accessible in a variety of situations. I keep the bigger one in my truck, and sometimes it's the only fixed blade I have with me, for whatever reason. In those times, I've been able to depend on it completely. Never had a moment of wishing that it was some other knife that I kept around for those "just in case" situations. Becoming familiar with the knife over time has allowed a confidence to develop that has been justified and validated by the capabilities this knife brings to the table. You can basically think of it as a Mora 2000 with a more rubbery handle and a better holster. The Peace Maker is astonishingly sharp, made of quality materials, and comes with a fantastic sheath. These knives have been a good addition to my collection. Now, if they would only produce a "tactical all-black" variant...

For the price, I am amazed with this knife. The grip is so nice and tactile, the German steel blade is honed to a sharpness rarely seen out of the box. The sheath for this knife leaves much to be desired. Sure it hold the knife in place and has a good clip, however the sides come up too high covering parts of the handle sometimes slowing down your draw. The Sheath is cheap plastic. Still gets 5 stars because of how good the knife is.
