I purchased this kit to begin making Sauer kraut at home. First kit was missing parts. Returned and purchased another which arrived complete. No problems on first fermentation. System worked great. Just started my second fermentation. Noticed that three of the four jars showed gas production in the airlock...but one did not. That's when I noticed the rubber seal had been compromised. Yeah...stupid design to use a soft silicone seal with an airlock stuck in it...as that action presses the silicone up against a very thin metal hole... This slices a hole in the seal and renders it useless.I understand the reason it failed...and honestly see no need to keep going down that path.Easy to use...works great...until a nearly unavoidable failure occurs.

It took me a while to figure out how to use this kit as it included no instructions. My first attempts were a bust, with liquids overflowing out of the top. But once I realized my error, the kit worked well. I DO wish they would include some clear instructions snd perhaps even a small recipe book would have been nice.

Would have been nice if the screw top lid fit the jar. Anyone else have issues. Son drilled hole in plastic lid, hope this does the trick.

It arrived on time, and although I haven't used it yet, it appears to be of good quality. The only thing that I didn't like at the moment is that one of the weights came broken, because it wasn't wrapped like the others.
