About this item

  • 1 Full set of Nylgut concert ukulele strings
  • Low G tuning in the Key of C with a wound 4th
  • Strings are Nylgut (polymerized plastic with additives patented by Aquila) and multi-strand Nylgut overwound with silver plated copper
  • Made in Italy

A fundamental aim of Aquila's research has been to make a new synthetic product having the same acoustic properties as gut, but without its typical defects - high cost, limited duration and high instability under varying climates. The New Nylgut has precisely these qualities allowing one to rediscover the sonorities familiar to the great 19th and 20th century Uke masters and guaranteeing a stability of tuning higher even than that of the best gut and nylon strings.

My Cordoba Concert Ukulele came with Aquila strings and I wanted a set on hand when one of the original strings gave up. They haven't yet, so I actually haven't put then on the instrument.

These type of strings offer a Gut like performance without the "Stretching" problems and cost of traditional gut strings .Wonderful tone and definitive attack .

音色には問題ないが、張力が強いので長時間演奏すると指が吊りそうになったりします。

I had another brand on which had a very bright sound; I liked it, plus the extra volume that created. However there seemed to be a buzz kind of a problem. THESE strings have a soft, mellow tone and no buzz. They took longer to hold a tune but are very nice. Ukes can be loud or obnoxious to some; these are about as mellow as it gets. Nice strings.

Not sure if they're the best as I haven't tested many makes but they have a good tone, hold their tuning well (once bedded in) and last a good time.A reliable brand.

Low-G string is a great alternative to try on my ukulele. Love the extra depth of sound. Since the low-g is a wound string, it was a little harder to string, but I managed. Had heard lots of good things about Aquila strings, and I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I’ve tried other strings on my uke but I’ll never buy a different kind again. Hands dow, best uke strings on the market! They are a little thicker of a string so they may be a little harder if you have a slotted bridge like I have but they sound beautiful and hold their tune really well. 10/10 recommend!

I read a lot of positive information to I swapped my stock Mitchell uke strings out with these and the sound was immediately noticeable. The strings give a warm, longer sound that's really nice. As with any strings, they take a couple of days to stretch out, so don't expect them to be play ready. You'll be re-tuning somewhat frequently at first. But the difference is really worth it, especially for $7.

Just as an FYI for first time Ukulele string buyers and users- we have found that ukulele strings stretch more than you might anticipate. This is particularly true of you also play guitar. My daughter commented several times while putting these on how much they stretched out. These were easy to put on. They sound great. I really have enjoyed the sound coming from the ukulele since these strings have been put on the uke.Great product.

I just got my first ukulele and all the reviews for the uke stated the factory strings were junk which effects the sound and performance of the ukulele of course. Most of the recommendations were to change the factor string out with Aquila Strings. I took their advice but the ukulele arrived before the strings, but I played it anyway much to the sadness of my now sore fingers I may add. The sound of the original strings also left much to be desired, the instrument sounded flat further down the neck to a point that cords played sounded muted. I was hoping like others testified to that it was not the instrument but the poor quality strings.Well the strings arrived and I could not wait to install them and see if my ukulele was not defective for it looked great but sounded like a plastic toy.I threw on the new Aquila's tuned them up....again and again...it is not the ukulele but new strings take some time to stretch. After a hour the strings were beginning to hold tune and the sound......wow! It was like a whole new instrument. The feel...my fingers were so much happier as they traveled from cord to cord.I just love these strings and see hope for learning the uke less painfully (my wife's ears may disagree).Check out YouTube and see how these wonderful strings are made, it is amazing and you will appreciate the price paid for these strings so much more. Thanks Aquila and Thanks again for a fine product Amazon![...]
