Nice and lite, you do not have to use chin strap at all.

This safety helmet has an attractive design and comes equipped with a bright work light for enhanced visibility. While it offers a comfortable fit, it is designed to sit a bit higher on the head compared to standard helmets. The interior straps provide a satisfactory fit for me, although customization options are limited to this feature alone. Its ventilation is commendable, making it an ideal choice for sweltering summer weather. Additionally, it includes stickers, which are not pre-applied, allowing for personal customization to one's preference.

This is not my first time using the SAFEBUILDER product. My previous purchase was their yellow safety hat with front visor for tree trimming. This time I got their "matt black" which is designed to give the appearance of a carbon fiber helmet. The pattern printing is not very good with numerous spots that were not painted or maybe they are bold spots where the paint was rubbed off by the packaging. The helmet itself is good quality and properly certified. The webbing is very comfortable with a uniquely designed sweat band. My favorite thing is the way they have integrated several holders for the elastic band of the headlight. This is so much better that those "s" hooks that slip over the brim and constantly slide around. Unfortunately, on this model the air vents would not stay shut, the sliding piece constantly fell down opening the vent again. Normally when I wear a hardhat the air vent is always open, however in the wintertime when it rains you obviously want those vents closed. The curvature of these hats is such that rain will enter the open vent and run down the inside edge and then drip down the back of your neck until your undershirt is wet. I'm not picking on SAFEBUILDER, this is a common complaint with vented hardhats, and I have had the same malfunctioning vent problem with Klein helmets.

I ordered the carbon fiber looking hardhat. My first impressions opening the box was wow. The added vents on top that you can open or close make nice on those hot or cold days. It has a ratchet type head band that makes it nice for quick adjustments to your head and is lightweight but strong. The inner webbing is comfortable unlike other hardhats I have worn. The hardhat feels and looks of good quality.I personally do not use a chin strap much but I tried it out and if I ever needed to use it makes for a comfortable, secure hold. The hardhat has accessory holes for earmuffs, and different styles of face shields which makes it nice for add on's. I would recommend this hard hat to anyone who has the need for one at work or home. It is ANSI compliant and fits the requirements of my work in an industrial environment. The hardhat I got also came with a attachable, USB rechargeable head lamp. The lamp has several white light modes, spotlight and area. It also has red L.E.D.'s that stay on steady or you can place in strobe mode for an emergency type situation. There is also a built in photo cell for low light conditions. There is a separate button you push and a very dim blue light glows on the headlamp. When placed in this mode the head lamp auto senses low light conditions and turns the head lamp on for you Automatically. Pretty cool. Thumbs up on this hard hat and light.

I have not worn a construction helmet since I was around 20 and had a parttime job to pay for college – it was just a simple hard plastic, probably polyethylene helmet, which was popular in the 60’s and later. All it had was a headband – hot and uncomfortable, no chin strap, no ventilation. This SAFEBUILDER worker safety helmet is light-years beyond that. It has side air vents that can be closed. It has earmuff and safety visor (neither included) attachment slots It has an excellent 6-pont suspension system for impact and secure fitting. It is made from acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), which is as tough and light as you can get, depending on your particular safety needs. It comes in black, yellow and white but NOT blue or green, as is required in some professions. I am very pleased with this order. I live in a forest and occasionally must trim tree branches or cut down dead trees – got tired of getting hit on the head by falling branches. I also do work in the attic, basement and under the deck and exposed overhead nails are a hazard. This helmet with light is a blessing. The LED headlight (included) is separate from the helmet so that you have the option of using it or not. The headlight strap fits under 4 tabs on the outside of the helmet. It has multiple lighting modes: Bright center LED, lesser light side LED’s, all three, solid red, flashing red. It also has a control button for auto on/off based on light level – very sensitive and saves battery. The headlight has a ratchet swivel hinge for aiming up or down. It uses a rechargeable battery with a USB A-MICRO cable (included NOTE: Not the commonly supplied USB-C - see pic). A power converter is NOT included. Caution: There is NO reference to the volt and amp recharge requirements on the product webpage or included documentation. I used a smart converter 5V3A which detects the targets needs and adjusts accordingly.PS: I must admit that I was a bit confused as to which was the front – tried it on backwards at first (all the straps and internal suspension were a bit confusing – over 50 years since I wore one). The orange ratchet headband adjustment knob goes in back. The instructions include how to install the suspension system – not needed, the suspension is already installed as delivered.NOTE: I mentioned “your particular safety needs”. All hard hats must meet American National Standards Institute (ANSI) safety standards and the SAFEBUILDER certainly does that. There are other hard hat materials with properties suitable for specific occupations: High-density polyethylene (HDPE), fiberglass, polyetherimide, molded thermoplastic, Bakelite composite (phenolic resin or polyoxybenzylmethyleneglycolanhydride), polypropylene and carbon fiber. I suggest research into the particular pros and cons and application of each material when making a purchase decision.
