One of the screw cap fixing the handle suddenly bursted when I was boiling water with it as normal. It produced a frighteningly sharp and loud bang as if a pistol shooting. I suspect some metal pieces on the bursted screw cap have been blown off out of my kitchen area, which could have injured or even killed me if shot on my body.I guess the manufacturer didn't run a high temperature endurance test for this pot and it was the first time in my whole life finding a steamer pot could become a bomb. I'm a lazy personal rarly write review on Amazon but decidedly spent 20 minutes giving my first 1 star on Amazon, just hoping it won't hurt anyone esle.

We bought this to replace a similar-sized stock pan that a family member borrowed but never returned. And then somehow lost. This made my husband and me very sad. It's only the two of us, so we don't always need a Dutch oven or large stock pot for soup, pasta for two, or other such small/medium-sized cooking tasks. After a bit of shopping around, I chose this set as a replacement.Everything here is solidly made, and we especially appreciate the thick bottom of the pan--the feature we missed most with our previous small stock pot. It means we can cook rice or couscous without worrying so much about burning. The thick bottom also insures even, reduced-frustration heating for things like sauteeing veggies and then scraping up the brown bits for roux, sauces or gravies. Our old pan was only the stockpot, but with this one we now have a steamer plus a double boiler pan as well, both of which we've found quite useful. Since we got this set, we've used it at least 3-4 days a week. The glass lid lets you see what's going on at a glance.Best of all, this little set is a steal at this price. I don't know what experience other people have had, but to me this is a "Buy with Confidence" item.

Llevo cocinando más de 20 años y este producto es fantástico. Tiene un tamaño super ahorrador de espacio y la calidad es buenísima. Excelente para cocinar una cena completa para dos o para las papillas de mi bebé. Lo complemento con los discos de papel encerado para facilitar la limpieza. Precio-beneficio excelente!

I like the fact that I have a double boiler and a steamer in one set. Takes less space when storing. The bottom bit works great on my induction stove top. The part for the double boiler part won't, but for me this is not an issue. I have boiled carrots in the bottom, steamed frozen broccoli in the steamer and made cheese sauce in the top. It was the only time I used all together, but it worked.

I love this double boiler pot, the material feels solid. I use it for making sauces, melting chocolate, steaming vegetables and sterilizing bottles for canning. Amazing value for the price I paid.

I love it, it is just the right size for the two of us and it should be enough for cooking for four people to, Includes: 4 quart stockpot, steamer insert, double boiler insert, and a glass lid. Stainless steel which is great.. Heavy duty but light so you can handle it better and yes you have to use pot holders to pick pan up but then you do with most pans no matter what their made out of.. The price is right to and it comes with a steamer which is a plus.. You can use it for all kinds of cooking. :)

Perfect addition to the stovetop. Nearly indestructible for those who tend to not mind the kitchen as often as they should. I was looking at larger capacity containers but this fits very well on the smaller burners with good clearance which is great for everything it does. I mostly use it as a two piece steamer, the main benefit is the large water volume compared to conventional basket steamers, and the glass top with vent makes checking up on the progress a snap. I got this for my father after he killed a few pressure cookers, he put weights on it and burnt it often enough that I can safely declare it impervious to nonfunctionality. It even cleaned up nice. Solid construction like the old style. I bought an Amazon Warehouse deal and got it like new. Recommended.

This is a fine product. Very well made and very versatile. The low price does not reflect the high value built into this product especially in light of the fact that it has a double wrapped bottom and a vented glass cover.The most pleasant aspect of purchasing this product was the fine example of customer service that I experienced. Through a shipping oversight, I received two perforated inserts. The boiler should have come with one perforated insert and one solid bottom insert. Upon discovering the error, I immediately Emailed the company's customer service department with an explanation of the problem. Within minutes I had a reply asking for varifacation and clarification of the problem. A photo of the parts that I had received proved to be enough varifacation and within 30 minutes I received a FedX shipment tracking number. The missing part arrived today all at no charge. That's stunning service by anyone's measure. Stuff happens and when it does, it is absolutely brilliant to see people step up, take corrective action and make things right. These people do.

I love the steamer and intend on purchasing a larger set the 8 quart. The first time I used the steamer set I was amazed how easy to prepare steamed veggies and rice all at once.. I love the pans and the weight, since I purchased this double boiler I've gone back and purchased the stir fry pan and a full 12 piece set, also the two smaller 1.5 pans. I intend to buy the paella pan and a set of stock pots. You cannot beat the price, the weight or the cooking experiences with these pans. What can I tell you, you can use the double handled pans on top of the stove, and in the oven, the lids are glass, and safe up to 500 degrees. I love them..

A little undersized, but workable. Works great for a steam cooker, such as to heat up tamales, stuffed peppers, or anything else that you want to reheat, but not rebake and dry out. An inch of water in your base pan and drop in the strainer pan and in no time your already cooked items are reheated with steam. Great for heating fresh veggies without cooking them limp. Great for cooking single meal batches of pasta; boil in the base pan, then pour off into the strainer pan, then serve in the top boiler pan. What a setup! Going to try to make homemade cheese and brunost sometime in the future, so the double boiler should help reduce bottom scald of the milk during the boil. Worth every penny I paid for it.

Perfect for Steaming Shrimp! Bought this for the steamer and double boiler features- a two in one deal. The fresh gulf shrimp we steamed turned out very well -steamed approx. 1 lb of large fresh shrimp to a perfect completion. Steamed for a bit over the suggested three minutes to be certain Shrimp was done - we could possibly get more shrimp steamed at one time but for first time worked great. Was not dry or chewy but just right! :0) We have tried many ways to prepare shrimp, grilling, boiling, broiling, fried- but steamed always seemed to taste the best- without dryness or overcooking. This unit worked great. Glass top is vented and although you need to use hot pads to remove from levels from the stove top- was not a problem. Mrs wants to use the double boiler for baking so far a good buy for both the steamer and double boiler all together in this unit. Shipping was very quick from Amazon. Seems sturdy and stainless steel should hopefully last a long time! Wife wanted a double boiler for baking sized perfectly and the Double Boiler & Steamer all in one also a space saver.
