I tried to use these locks with paracord to make adjustable tiedown lines for banner support poles. They were easy to install but unfortunately, they did not hold and maintain the necessary tension on the line. Not sure if the spring isn't strong enough or if the line channel is too smooth. The locks might work for a less demanding purpose.

These are low quality and very fragile. They don't secure the strings tightly and the little springs wiggle around and get stuck. I have used six so far and five of them broke within a few minutes.

I always been challenged by my shorts/jogging pants that has loose garters overtime. Tying the cords is ok but not often tight enough. This will hold it better. One drawback is the spring is not strong enough for smaller or flat cords.

The holes are too small to thread paracord after the ends are sealed by heat. The springs used to prevent slippage are totally inadequate. I would not want this product, even it was free, as they simply will not work.
