Bought these boots direct from the manufacturer. I am an avid DIY homeowner with only an occasional need to be on my roof. I've been up there before with just my regular shoes. I did okay, but that long 20deg pitch side made me nervous! And forget about the 45deg pitch side! I decided to try these boots out and also acquire some additional roof safety gear. Wow, what a difference! I felt way more secure walking the slope, and that made it easier to get all the other safety items installed. I swear, if for some reason I did fall off that roof I wouldn't be surprised to find these boots still stuck to the surface! They are good looking, fit well, comfortable, and do the job they were designed to do. They are a specialty tool, and if I'm going to DIY anything, I like having the right tools. Well worth it even for occasional use. Who knew peace of mind started at your feet??!!

Lace loop broke after light use. The loop just snapped while lacing up. Bought directly from Cougar Paws and they made several excuses as to why they would not replace the boot. Poor customer service. Poor quality boot. Otherwise I would give the boot an OK rating as a boot. The added traction on steep comp roofs 8/12 and up and roof protection on hot days is good. Not much good on metal roofs. Before this I owned a pair of the original shoes. They are no longer available and were a horrible fit.

With this shoe you definitely can tell the difference and I was able to "climb" where normally wouldn't be able to.

great feeling boots, my 11.5 allows some wiggle room. not good for roof boots. had to get a half size down. 11 were comfortable but more snug, keeps foot stable on roof.
