We live on dirt roads and when it snows and then gets plowed, that snow becomes extremely packed down and pretty much turns into ice. I like to walk around the lake every morning and have fallen a few times and thought these would be the perfect solution. Boy was I right!! Fit on my walking boots perfectly and get great traction and grip on the slippery roads. If you plan on going out this winter on ice, get you a pair of these!

The picture here is a 10.5W hiking shoe by Merrill. As you can see, these ice cleats fit perfectly, almost as if they were made for this shoe. The rubber-like silicone material grips onto the shoe with just the right amount of tension, and I like how the heel and the toe are reinforced and actually wrap around the shoe, as opposed to cheaper models that are simply small thin straps that barely hold onto the shoe.The addition of a nylon strap is a plus; it's additional security that these things won't come flying off in deep show or ice.There are lots of poorly made versions of these out there, so it's nice to see one that's pretty well manufactured.
