I really can’t even put any stars on this device. My first one I had taken it to a professional to have it installed. They couldn’t get the alarm to shut off and the remotes wouldn’t shut it off. So they took it out and I returned for another one. As of today. The same issue. I have triggered it myself on accident and wouldn’t get the alarm to shut off. Took it back to the alarm installation company. They recommended another system. I have taken it out and now this company won’t Let me return it. So I’m out the alarm system and the labor for installing it. If it was possible they would let me return it I won’t crest and major issue on this item. This is the beginning

Wired this up into my 99 Jeep Cherokee after it was returned to me after a recent theft.Check to see if you need additional relays for starter disable and power lock/unlock or any other features you opt for. (I only needed one for starter disable.)I'm still trying to find the sweet spot for tuning the shock sensor. No matter how much adjustment I have made the settings seem to be either 1. It goes of when a butterfly farts on it or 2. I can shake the whole vehicle and the warning chirps do not go off, just full blown alarm.The remotes are nice and hold a charge for quite some time. The 2-Way remote is awesome so I can take my keys to bed with me and know if the alarm or shock sensor is set off without worrying about being able to hear the siren.I mounted the blue LED on the dash and that thing is ridiculously BRIGHT.

I noticed that the antenna received does not match the one feature in the picture provided by Amazon. I'm not sure if it makes a significant difference but it feel right.

This alarm was very easy to install and works perfectly so far. LED is stupidly bright!! Lights up The whole inside of my truck. Range of remote is extremely far. I expect this alarm to last many years.

I received the unit and finally got it installed. Since I could not find many reviews on it, here's my initial review or what I received.Pros:-No branding on the front of the remotes which is nice. These have the name on the back, but I rather they didn't have any branding anywhere. This makes it harder for anyone at a shop for example to know what kind of alarm you have since there are times when you have to hand over the keys.-Two-way car alarm-The unit is nice and small.-The sidekick remote has a really nice feel to it.-The main LCD remote is thinner than my previous alarm remote so it feels much better in the pocket, but also a bit longer. It's also nice and clear so not hard to see it. Plus it turns red when the alarm sends you a notice. LED is white when pressing buttons or anything else.-The remote is USB rechargeable which is what I wanted to try. It gets old changing AAA batteries always run out when you least expect it.-LED on the alarm is blue and very bright. So now it's easier for anyone looking in to see it.-This is similar to my old AM alarm, but the feature set is better implemented on this one. I still had to program a couple of the features, but it's not hard once you figure it out. Just follow the manual.-I like the fact that they have the same system with the same features with and without a remote start. I don't need a remote start since the car is a manual and I like that because it means less wires in the car with the basic alarm features I need or want. Other systems have the features but you have to get the remote start if you want them. They don't have the options. If they do it may be a whole other model or something like that.-I contacted support before and after purchase. Although it took about two days for them to respond, they did and have been very helpful with any question I have had.- The LCD pager beep sound is very loud and almost annoying, but when I turned that off with only vibrate, you can miss when someone triggers the sensors, so I leave it on and I can't miss that. Unfortunately you also get all over beeps like when you put key into the ignition.Cons:-The wiring is 20 AWG which is also labeled, but it's not copper. It looks like aluminum. All other alarms have had copper or what looks to be copper wire. So it felt a bit fragile. I don't mind the 20 AWG as it keeps it nice and clean, but we'll see how that turns out. I got a new crimper that worked great so my connectors are really firm where I used them. The crimper crimps both the plastic on one side and the metal part on the other side.-The antenna shown is not what you get. I bought this because it's an FM system, but can't tell the difference from my old AM system yet. Frankly I don't mind what antenna they include as long as it's the FM since that's the reason I bought it. The one included is the one with a small rectangle and the antenna coming out one side.-The main LCD remote is plastic but has metal edges. I thought it was all plastic at first. It's nice and clear but doesn't feel quite as nice the second remote because of the plastic case, including that silver edge. Not totally bad since it's light, but still worth mentioning.-They also don't include a nice protective case for it which sucks as I already nicked mine the first time I had to put it in my pocket.-Oh yeah, this is the big one. As others have said, you will need a bunch of relays which are not built into the unit or included with the unit which them becomes another mess of wires if you had to add that. I ended up needing 5. Three for the door locks since I wanted to add that driver priority lock. One for the starter and one for the trunk release. My car didn't have anything so I had to add everything to it. I was thinking of adding the dome light, but then read that the auto or active arm would disable it if you used it, so I didn't bother with it. The three relays are actually bigger than the unit itself. If your car has door locks, then it should be less stuff and if it doesn't have that driver priority feature, all you would need is one relay for that feature to work If I remember correctly.-The switch has a short lead than everything else which sucks since it's what you want to try place elsewhere that's not as close. So if you want to install the system elsewhere it's a bit hard due to the wires so you will need to cut that and extend the wires if that's what you want to do.-Today I found out that the siren is not as loud as any other alarm I had before which I could hear all the way from the street. Today my car went off and although the pager went off but it's not constant so I thought it was just my neighbor hitting the door. I can't hear my alarm going off from my room now. I like that it's soft on the chirps but not when it's tripped. I know I'll hear it if I'm closer or outside.-The other thing I found out today is that the sidekick remote uses 3 cr2016 batteries which sucks as I don't think they even lasted a month. Now I have to go order some of these batteries as I don't have any. Also the buttons are all chrome so it can be a bit hard to tell what is what, even with the lock/unlock signs drawn into the buttons. It's fine after you used it but I think that could be improved a bit by maybe coloring them either black or white to make them stand out more.Other thoughts...I did manage to install everything in the car and made a cleaner install. Since I just install it, I am still testing it and will update as time goes. So far I got the sensors dialed in to where I like them and have not gotten any false alarms in the last two days I had it and seems to work so far. I like the feature set, but I really don't like the fact that it does not have the built in relays for anything else other than the lights. Yes, this would make it a bit larger, but also a bit cleaner if you install this yourself. For my next alarm I may look at something that does include those relays and that's the only reason I may have to look elsewhere unless I find something else I don't like with this system. But we shall see. If it just works without any problems I may take the extra relays trade off since my other car won't need the door lock relays as it has those from the factory. I don't know yet. I bought this system because it had the basic features I wanted and it was affordable and I wanted to install it myself. The instructions are easy to follow, I did find a few typos, but nothing that would stop you from getting this all set up.I was trying to figure out how to arm the alarm without it chirping or in silent mode without having to program it all the time. The manual is vague on this and tonight I found that all you have to do is press the Panic button. Yeah it sounds weird to press that button, but you only do it for a second just like the regular two front buttons, then the car arms and locks. I thought you had to press the panic and then the lock button, but that's not the case. Just hit the panic button to lock the alarm silently. Only one button press which is what I wanted. I'm not sure if that also works for the unlock but I guess I'll try that later since I forgot to do it. So far I can't figure out how to unlock this silently, it only locks silently with that panic button. Unfortunately there is no single button silent unlock. You must first press the panic button which locks, then the unlock, then the system unlocks silently which I don't like. I was hoping you could do a single button for both silent lock and unlock. That is not the case with this alarm though.The only thing that is a bit weird is that when I open any door, the LED lights up solid blue. At first I thought that was fine, but at night it's super bright if you have the door open which I don't like. I'm not sure if I plugged something wrong or that's how the alarm is. I'm still waiting on an answer. The other thing I found was that the alarm was not auto locking itself, but maybe it's just that I had the door open or something. I know that a couple of times it would not actively rearm even though I thought I had programmed it in. I re-did that so we'll see. Aside from these two things, everything seems to be fine which is all I need from any alarm, so we'll see how this turns out.Update:- So far I got everything connected correctly. In order to silently disarm you have to press the panic button, then the unlock. Sometimes it works and other times not so much. I think it has to do with how fast you do it. I'm not too sure, but I noticed it worked a few times. Other times I get the regular sound from the siren. Maybe I'm just doing it wrong. I never heard back.- The LED will light up solid after the key is taken out and a door is opened. This is correct as it will start the passive arming if you close the door, but I found out it only does this right after the key is taken out. If I arm/disarm with the remote, then the alarm won't rearm no matter how many times I open/close the door. I have the passive and active arming programmed in there. So it works the way it's supposed to and not re-arm when a door is opened. If I close it, it still won't rearm. This only works if the door has not been opened, like if you accidentally press the button in your pocket and no door is opened, then it will re-arm. If you want to make sure it always re-arms it looks like you have to go back into the programming and change the alarm to always re-arm when the key is out with the lock option or no option. I think this is the third option I want, but just haven't bother to try it yet as I don't want the alarm to re-arm every time I take out the key. I do want it to re-arm when I close any door, but this seems to be a bit weird on this alarm. So the three choices are passive arming, active re-arm and auto rearm. I have the first two set, but I will have to try the adding the third to check and see if it will rearm when I close the doors or if it will do it no matter what as long as the key is out. I hope not and if this works with the doors like I'm thinking then it's all good. I like to set up my alarms to re-arm just in case I ever forget to do it.- Today I installed the front pin and since the hood and trunk pin go to the same wire, when one of them is opened the LCD shows "hood" open which is a bit weird. I mean it works but it would be nice if it had one input for each so you really know which side it is like the 502 has. The only time I see trunk open is when I actually open the trunk which is fine, but the trigger doesn't show this.-The other thing I wished it had was an input for a second sensor. As is, you have to piggy back the sensors if you want to add another to the same input with some diodes. The good thing is that they both have two stages, but you get the same thing no matter which sensor it is. Which I guess is fine, but you can't tell which one is was from. For example if you get a light trigger, you won't know if it's the motion or proximity sensor. You just get a trigger notice for the first stage. Although a bit simplistic, it still works and you can tell if someone does try to go into the car.Update:December 27, 2015So far the alarm has worked fine. I had to remove the second sensor because I was getting too many false alarms. I think it was due to the sensor itself because I have not gotten any more problems now. Which brings me to my point, I wished the alarm had two separate sensor ports so that you don't have to piggy back to the original sensor. The other annoying thing about this alarm is the remotes. The small non lcd sometimes just doesn't seem to want to work. Yes, the battery was good and no matter what it would not open the car. The LCD on the other hand was working fine, but I hate the fact that you don't get a good clicking feel for the buttons. It's hard to tell if you have press it or not. The second part is that the sound is either off or on which is very loud and the reason I would like to only have it beep at me when the alarm actually goes off and not every time I press the button. So I have turned that feature off because my neighbors can literally hear my remote if I leave the beep on. Yes they also hear the car later too but if I do a silent arm/disarm with the beep on, they can still hear it. It works but this is very annoying. I thought the false alarms where due to random interference so this is why I took off the other sensor since it was just going off and it looks like that fixed the problem with that. Even with the diodes I could not get the second sensor working correctly apparently so I have given up on it. Hence the reason I wished this had a separate sensor port.Update May 6, 2017I have lower my rating because the main pager battery died and well, I can't use that pager anymore. I have had a problem with the secondary remote not working at times even with new batteries. So although the alarm seems to still be working, the remotes have been really annoying and I haven't heard back from them. I was just told to contact support which I did, but that was the end of that. I would just get another secondary remote since I like it, but since it sometimes doesn't work, there's no point in doing that. The signal just doesn't pick up randomly. I got this mainly for the pager, but since those are an arm and a leg, there's no point in going that route because a whole new system would cost about as much as those are sold.I was now also quoted over 40 bucks for an antenna since I bought the alarm a while back, but who knows if that's the problem since it never worked right with the secondary remote. The pager remote broke a while back to. So now I have to get, yet another alarm. Not happy with crimestopper since I always had issues with the remote not working during the hot days.

So far it works just like it should, which is way more than I can say for the 1 year old Viper on my other car. Requires relays for door locks, trunk release, and the stater disable which the older Crimestopper units didn't need, so don't forget to buy relays. The install went easy though, the instructions are fairly clear, and most of all it just works. The remotes have some weight to them and don't feel cheap, and the rechargeable battery in the 2-way remote is nice. The control unit is really small and can hide almost anywhere. All in all, another good Crimestopper unit. I'm done trying DEI units when the Crimestopper units always install well and work right.
