Sending unit worked well with my 20 gallon tank on my 85 Jeep CJ7. Like others have mentioned, the nut that holds the sending unit to the tank is a different thread and won't fit. Make sure you keep the old one because you're going to use it when installing the new one. Other than that is all good.

Float was made out of cheap plastic. I used my float from the previous fuel sender unit. The nut that was included was the wrong size so I had to use the original nut as well.

Aparently this is meant for a CJ, I managed to fit it to an SJ, havent finished tweaking the float for the proper reading but all I had to do to make it fit the tank was cut the pickup tube right before the bend rotate it so it points to the other side and attach it together with a piece of hose and a couple of clamps, because the fuel bowl at the bottom doesnt allow it to fit the other way around, it actually fits the height perfectly with the sock on although the sock will bend right at the tip of the tube, I'm guessing its the same on a CJ since you want it to reach the bottom so you dont run out with gas still available in the tank, the oring is the perfect size for an SJ tank too, but the nut is too small. Overall I'm happy with the purchase, I checked the part number in another site and it said it fits an SJ but it was wrong, still made it work without much effort.

I had to remove the tank the next day because I left the vent hose off and found the o ring had expanded. Had to replace the o ring.

Satisfactory! Fit my 20 gal 1986 CJ-7 tank perfect. Kit is complete with filter and O ring. Crown is good OEM parts manufacturer.
