The mount itself seems stufdy and strong and I have no doubt it would have made a good laptop stand, but my package arrive missing the mounting brackets, so I have to return.

I'm not using this in my car but I needed something very adjustable yet strong to attach to an office chair and ran across this. The quick release and mounting options are awesome and if you need quick access to your laptop while driving off road in the Baja race, I'm sure this will do just fine!
