This is a nice stand and it works pretty well. It's fairly durable and doesn't feel like it is going to break in years of use.I do have some reservations about clamping to my really expensive gaming laptop, but when you need extra space, this works out fine.I do like that you can put this in either portrait or landscape mode, however I don't trust it as much in landscape because it wobbles quite a bit.Overall this is a RECOMMEND!

It’s exactly what I needed! I ordered a portable monitor for my laptop but it didn’t come with anything to attach it to the laptop. It only has a little cover that coverts into a stand. I wanted something that didn’t take up too much desk/table space and wasn’t much wider than the laptop. For example, if the space was something like a TV tray I knew it would fit and there would be no need for more surface space to accommodate the monitor. The foot on this sits maybe 3 inches behind the laptop and about 1-2 inches off to the side. Or u can use it on top of the laptop and that would sit about 3 inches behind the base of the laptop. If the monitor or device being used is light enough you could possibly not need the leg to lean it on but that would put more pressure on the laptop screen and hinges.

This is a very useful attachment when needing a secondary screen for a laptop, or attaching a small screen to another device. As this device attached to each screen with 2 thumb bolts on each side, I worry about how much that might damage the bezel or LCD through flexing. It would be less likely to cause damage if there was a bar under the posts as it would spread out the pressure. I would advise being very careful. If the stand is properly installed that will likely help keep any flexing from happening, but I couldn't test the stand (as indicated below). It looks like the stand would help A LOT with ensuring there is less flexing or pressure on the screen or bezel, butthe internal box in my package from Amazon was damaged and the stand must have fallen out. The external Amazon bag was intact with no holes, so it shipped that way and I won't hold the seller responsible. As long as your careful with your screen (and receive all parts) then I would recommend this.

This monitor clamp is sturdy and well built, but you'll want to make sure you check a couple things for a good fit:1) Does your monitor have bezels? If your monitor has very small bezels or very little outer frame/edge, the clamp may not be good to secure on your monitor. At a minimum, you probably want at least a quarter of an inch to half an inch of bezel for a secure fit.2) Does your monitor have a thin, flat back? If your monitor is curved towards the edges or thicker than about half an inch, this may not fit well. Curved backs won't allow you to secure the clamps well and this will tend to just push your monitor out when you tighten the screws. As long as you can tolerate the above two items, this stand/mount can work well for mounting a secondary montor to the side or top of your laptop screen. It is made of durable materials, but a bit heavy if you're conscious about packing light.

I'd hoped to use this with a Macbook Pro. It's basically a clamp, that clamps to the edge of a laptop monitor and a small external monitor, with a leg to hold the clamp up.The clamp is padded steel, so it will easily damage a monitor, especially if you overtighten it or if the laptop is jostled or jarred.Worse, it's really not appropriate for any modern laptop with no bezel—if you have an ultrabook, Mac laptop, or other laptop where the screen glass goes all the way to the edge of the screen, the odds you'll damage the laptop are quite high. You can place the second monitor on the side or top of the laptop, but changing between side and top requires tools—you need to unscrew the little kickstand leg and re-attach it. If it were better designed, the leg would pivot. It doesn't.I'd feel a lot happier about using it if the clamps were plastic or rubber. As it is, they're steel, so one good bump and you'll crack your laptop screen. It came with the wrong instruction sheet—the instructions tucked into the box with mine were for an EV charging cable mount. That...doesn't speak well to the company's attention to detail.Poorly designed and highly likely to damage a laptop...I don't see myself using this.

VIVO Portable Monitor Holder for Laptop Screen Extender – Exactly What I Needed!I’ve tried multiple screen extender attachments that came with my portable monitors, and none of them worked the way I wanted. Most had flimsy kickstands or awkward angles that made the setup frustrating. But the VIVO Portable Monitor Holder is a complete game-changer!Sturdy and Durable: The kickstand is strong and stable enough to support my portable monitor without my laptop screen pulling down or tipping over from the weight.Versatile Positioning: I love that I can place my monitor on either side of my laptop, above it, or even switch between horizontal and vertical orientations effortlessly.Simple and Effective: Unlike those cheap, unreliable attachments that clip onto the back of your laptop, this stand gets the job done without any hassle. If you’re searching for a reliable way to attach your portable monitor to your laptop, stop wasting time with those built-in attachments that come with the monitor—they’re not worth it. This VIVO monitor holder is the way to go. I’m genuinely happy with my purchase and highly recommend it!

Used this to add another screen to my laptop screen extender and it works. The only proble..I had is that it was missing the screws for the stand, but I didn't need it because the stand I have for the other monitors supports this mount. Very sturdy.
