This class 1 trailer hitch and ball mount combination is designed for a custom fit on select years of the Mini Cooper (see application info to verify fitment). The hitch integrates with the vehicle's frame and provides a useful and dependable 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver. The receiver is perfect for attaching the included ball mount and towing a small trailer, or for adding cargo space with a hitch-mounted cargo carrier, bike rack or other accessory. This particular class 1 hitch is rated for 2,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 200 pounds tongue weight (never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). The ball mount included with this trailer hitch quickly and easily installs into the hitch receiver and has a 3/4" trailer ball hole (trailer ball not included). It can be mounted in the rise or drop position to promote level towing. Like all CURT custom hitches, this class 1 hitch is protected with our co-cured finishing process. It is descaled for a smooth surface, immersed in liquid A-coat for rust resistance inside and out, covered with a durable black powder coat and finally co-cured for an industry-leading rust, chip and UV-resistant shield. No matter where you're headed or which season of the year you’re towing in, this CURT hitch is equipped for long-lasting resilience to the elements. It features an open-back receiver for easy cleaning, and it comes with all the hardware necessary for the installation.

Looks well built but not quite there. Did not fit my 2009 Mini Cooper hatchback. Mounting holes are 10mm too far apart, had to cut off ends and re-weld at 10mm shorter. Was not going to return it as it took 2 attempts to get it to me in the first place.

Easy to install. Fits perfectly with no drilling required. Mounts to existing bumper bolt holes. IMHO removing rear wheels is more trouble than it is worth. Just carefully spot inner fender fasteners, then use compact tools to take them loose. Do not over-torque those eight mounting bolts (I did). I am replacing a couple of them that I stripped or broke. Now I am going to search for the recommended torque before I finish up. Look for this receiver that includes a ball mount. I had to wait a couple of extra days because it was out of stock, but it was actually less expensive than the receiver with no included ball mount. Last digit of part numbers is different. ENJOY!

I'm sure for the correct vehicle this is a great product. I like the fact that Amazon asks to make sure this fits your vehicle, as long as they are correct. Not the case, I entered my info and they confirmed it was the right hitch. Received it UPS, installed it as per.the instructions, and.it was the RIGHT part ordered, but per the manufacturers site said it will not fit my vehicle. Now I have to go.thru trouble of reshiping it back, refund, reorder, reinstall .......blah experience

Fits great, easy to install if you follow the instructions and can turn a screwdriver and the occasional wrench. I did bend the mounting pads a little, just enough to tweak them so that a straight edge sets flush when laid upon them. Easy enough to do in my vice with a little weight behind it. Fits great right behind the little knockout in the bumper.

I mounted this in my 2010 MINI Cooper the day I bought the car. A little scary disassembling the rear end of a car I just brought home. It's perfect how the hitch is accessible right through the unused center hole in the bumper. Although I bought this on Amazon, the video on [...] was invaluable in helping me do the installation myself. Quality of materials is excellent.
