I used my scion to tow my jet ski and 15 foot Jon boat. I was so iffy about doing it with the 1-1/4 but it’s all I could get. One it got here I seen how stout it was built. The ball hold is solid not hollow. I’m completely confident with it and the car tows like a dream. No issues at the ramp eitherOne thing the instructions should add or kit should come with is a tap to chase the threads. This car was 15 years old and had rust and debris build up.ran a tap through each hole and install was a breeze by myself with only a wrench.

I have a scion XB. Removed the rear tow hook and bolted the hitch right up. Fit perfect. Thanks.

Pretty self explanatory. The product itself is just heavy welded steel. All good there. But the hardware was not properly packaged so I do not have enough. I don't know how to contact the seller so hit me up here.

Very nice heavy gauge that is painted so hopefully it won't rust for quite a while. Bolts, bar and pin included with hitch. Easy to install if your car is new, but my xB has 80K miles on it so the threaded holes that are on the frame that the new bolts are supposed to fit in were all filled with dirt and rust. Cleaning them out was more than a thin wire brush could handle and the new bolts that come with the hitch are not self-cleaning so I was stuck for a solution. I suppose a thread cutter would have been the best thing, but I didn't have one in the proper size. So I made my own thread cutter using one of the bolts that you end up taking out that held the towing strap. Simple cut into the bolt thread with a grinder and it exposes the edges of the thread so that when inserted into the threaded hole, the edge scrapes the threads clean. I had to keep oiling the bolt, and alternating inserting it and then removing and cleaning the threads, then adding more oil and inserting it further. Doing this to each of the six holes cleaned the threads perfectly and fastening the hitch from there on was a snap. No interference anywhere and I have the Release Edition with ground effects but the hitch fit great.

This hitch sits with the receiver just under the bumper. You only see the square part hanging down and not the whole cross bar like I've seen on other vehicles, so its not very noticeable. The welds and painted finish are top notch. Word of caution though, from what I gather the xb has NO rated towing capacity! So tow with care! I plan on using it for a bike rack and maybe a small jetski or motorcycle trailer so it will probably be ok. HTH!

Purchased this hitch for the second generation 2008 Scion xB. Product showed up within the specified time and in OK condition. There was a decent gouge in the paint however due to shipping damage. It was not enough damage in my opinion to return it. It was a pretty simple install even by myself. After removing the tie down anchor you simply install 6 bolts with washers with the receiver and you're done. However, Curt makes it clear to recommend on their instructions and on their installation video before mounting to thread the 6 holes first with one of the bolts. My xB has 95,000 miles and 3 years worth of road salt, rain, slush, etc. so there was a fair amount of rust in most of the holes. It took a lot of lubricant, engine de-greaser, and an impact wrench to finally get through the rust. I used my racing hydraulic jack to lift the receiver hitch into place while tightening the bolts - easy peasy. The fit is close to the bumper but with more than enough clearance. It looks great and the product is obviously well designed, almost like a factory fit.I've got a folding trailer rated for 1200lbs that I will tow my sportbike as well as other larger items that won't fit inside the car. I also plan to get a hitch mounted cargo carrier for our next trip. If the hitch had shown up without any damage I would have given this product a 5 star rating. Otherwise I would highly recommend this receiver hitch.
