This hitch lock was slightly too short for the 2.5 inch Curt hitch, so the locking mechanism didn’t work.

One of the keys was bent and snapped in half while trying it. Now I need to get a second key made so I don't only have one.Edit: Updated review to 5 stars. I contacted CURT and after explaining the issue, the customer service rep sent me a replacement product, free of charge.

this is my second one for the same trailer. The first one the lock stopped opening with the Key. Not sure why. I had it on when I was parking at a campsite and had to make a tight back turn and heard something popped, not sure if that did something or not but the key stopped working. Bought another one and we will see.

the only ding is that my wife couldn't lock the lock back onto the pin. You have to push the lock onto the pin, then hold the lock, then twist the key. Not obvious. Yet, once you know that, it works great. Fits our trailers well. Works well.

Great low cost outboard motor theft deterrent (to slow thief down, not stop) installed thru transom. One third the price of McGuard made for this purpose.

Needed a replacement to hold my room cargo carrier in place after I lost the threaded pin the carrier came with and this fit the bill. It's thin enough to fit through the 5/8 hitch pin hole as well as the inner screw threading the cargo had while still being strong enough to keep the carrier and all the cargo in the hitch. Very happy with it. Strong convenient lock and nice large keys that make the actual unlocking a bit easier.
