This is a little awkward to use in tight spaces because you have to get a wrench/or ratchet in there tighten your band clamp, as opposed to the purposely made wrench that does the same thing. I guess it depends on your situation as to which tool, this or the pliers are better for the job. This definitely worked but on the outside boot of the CV joint, it's a little cumbersome to get on, again this is vehicle dependent the vehicle you are working on so maybe it was just a little bit of a pain with the Subaru Forester I was working on. At the same time I only used it one time so far and one vehicle and it did do the job and it's made pretty well and cheaply priced so I would definitely say it's worth it. This is a tool that won't get used much by the DIY shade tree mechanic, but it's good to have on hand.

Seems pretty decent build. My intention is to use this for center slip yoke drive shaft cover(style with carrier bearings) to the install clamps.Time will tell if this holds up
