Product Installation
1. Place the CV boot expander tool against the gimbal
2. Flip the CV boot over, align the small opening of the tool with the small opening of the tool and push in firmly (you can apply some oil to the outside of the tool to reduce friction resistance)
3. Cover the CV joint with the sheath and the installation is complete

I got this CV boot tool cone to help with mounting the CV sheath. When mounting the CV sheath, you have to be careful because it can tear or be damaged easily. I’m hoping this tool will help in mounting the CV sheath and prevent any damage. I have not used it yet, but I expect it to be easy to use. I also expect it to prevent damages, which is the point of me purchasing it. It’s a simple concept and looks like it’s a simple solution.

I’ve been turning wrenches on my cars for over two decades now and if there’s one thing that’s always been a pain in the neck it’s getting new CV boots on without tearing them. I’ve tried doing it by hand and I’ve tried a few rigged up methods and all that did was waste my time and mess up more than a few boots. The split boots that bolt together never seal right or last. This tool actually works like it's supposed to. There are some vids online you can watch but clean up the shaft, lube up the tapered cone, flip the boot inside out for outer joint, for inner joint you leave it as is, slide it on then push it down over the joint smooth and easy. No splits no warping. The plastic's tough but light, I was suprised how well it held up. Even with a little grease on it it becomes very slippery but it cleans up quick which is nice. The big open end is just over 4"s so make sure your boot can stretch that far & its over a foot long. I have used oil, silicone and grease as lube. After using this thing a few times now I don’t know why I didn’t get one earlier this thing is worth it.
