I was really surprised when this arrived. I had curly cords 50 years ago that I used with bands, but haven't had one since then. But for my practice room, I decided I would like to have one. The D'Addario cable is listed as 30 feet. I think you would be hard pressed to extend it to a full 30 feet, but you can certainly expect to easily extend it to about 15 feet without too much tension.As I mentioned, the cable is heavy. It's certainly heavier than any other guitar cable I have and it's on par with some of the higher end mic and PA cables I have. The plugs appear to be good quality, with heat shrink tubing extending from inside the connector to add some strength to the ends. The sleeves don't readily unscrew from the plug, at least not by hand, but with that tight a fit, I'm not inclined to take a pair of pliers to open it.If you want a curly cord, I think this is arguably one of the best values I've seen on Amazon for them.

Hace tiempo que andaba buscando una cable de calidad tipo teléfono y de la longitud adecuada. Este de D'Addario es perfecto y además lo he encontrado a un precio inmejorable. A pesar de la longitud no hay pérdidas de ningún tipo y se nota la calidad en cada uno de sus componentes. Un maravilla.

This cable works just fine and it sounds great to me. It's also a great value. I returned it, though, and after trying it I understand why brands like Lava Cable charge three times as much for a similar product. By comparison, the D'Addario cable is really, really heavy and stiff. The Lava cable is far lighter and, when you step away from your amp, the coils stretch out nicely. With the D'Addario, the coils stay stiffly coiled and I just don't want to put that strain on my amp's input jacks. With front-mounted jacks, the cable pulls out. With top-mounted jacks, the D'Addario pulls sideways. A Lava Cable costs over three times as much but for me it's worth it.

First things first - you need to understand that this is a coiled cable, meaning it's going to have added capacitance which our ears will perceive as having "less highs" than a normal straight 20ft instrument cable.This is more important than it's appearance which should be thought of as a secondary attribute.That being said, this cable succeeds beautifully for amps that are slightly bright. Happy to report that although treble is reduced, it maintains PRESRNCE, detail (sparkle) unlike cheaper coil cords I've used and it's very, very well made. It may be indicative of it's quality, but also appears to be quieter than my 20ft Planet Waves Cables and stronger in the bass, mids as a perceived result. Abit on the heavier side of things too.I have it paired with a mildy modified Epiphone Valve Jr combo with a 10in speaker shoehorned in. This amp is just a little bright no matter what and this cable was the remedy.On amps like my Traynor YBA-1 that have a treble control you simply bump it another notch and it sounds exactly the same as other cables, only quieter.I would not consider this cable though if your sound is perceived as "perfect," because it does in truth color the sound but in a musical, pleasing way. That's kind of the point though.What's important from a review standpoint is that the other attributes that make for a good, solid and long lasting instrument cable - quiet use of operation, maintaining of details, signal and overall durability - are all here.Personally speaking, the coiled, slightly off white coloring is absolutely adorable and adds a little style and flair. A friend of mine was intrigued to pick up and play just by noticing the cable alone.Yep. Good stuff.
