I HAVE USED D'ADDARIO BLACK UKULELE STRINGS BEFORE,& THEY WOULD STAY ON FOR ABOUT A DAY BECAUSE I THINK THEY SOUND SO TERRIBLE. BUT THE "BLACK NYLON" WITH A WOUND 3rd. STRING, BLOWS ME AWAY. I AM SO IMPRESSED WITH THESE STRINGS, IM PROABLY GOING TO GET A FEW MORE SETS. THEY SOUND SO BRIGHT COMPARED TO THE OTHER STYLES OF "BLACK" UKULELE STRINGS BY D'ADDARIO,THE DIFFERENCE IS INCREDIBLE! THEY SOUND JUST AS BRIGHT AS ANY "AQUILA" STRING(with the exception of the red series,if you use them and they dont saw into your bridge. if you use reds look at your bridge to see if they have cut into it like a little saw)OUT THERE. I PUT THESE "HAWIIAN TENOR" STRINGS ON A "CONCERT" UKULELE,AND IT SOUNDS KILLER,I ALSO RECCOMEND GETTING THE BLACK & NOW WHITE "DIAMOND STRING TIES" SO YOU DONT HAVE TO HASSLE WITH TYING YOUR STRINGS,ESPECIALLY IF YOU USE A WRAPPED STRING. THE TIES MAKE EVERYTHING EASIER & SOUND ALOT MOR CRISP & BRIGHT!!!!!ALSO PURCHASED(since they jumble all the string reviews together)A SET OF NYLTECH D'ADDARIO UKULELE STRINGS,THEY SOUND GREAT,VERY BRIGHT,PUNCHY.PROABLY BECAUSE THERE MADE IN CONJUNCTION WITH "AQUILA" HELP. THERE MADE WITH NYLON BUT WITH AQUILAS FORMULA.WOULD BUY THEM AGAIN & RECCOMEND TO ANYONE NOT WANTING "AQUILAS" ESPECIALLY THE "REDS" THAT WILL SHRED YOUR BRIDGE BECAUSE OF THE COPPER POUDRR COATING THEY HAVE APPLIED TO THEM.

I have been using these strings for about 10 years now for my Ukulele. I prefer the 3rd string wound so these are perfect. Sounds nice and smooth, easy on the fingers and last a very long time, only replaced once in 10 years.

sembrano buone corde anche se una mi si e rotta quasi subito .... ma francamente potrebbe essere stata anche una casualità ... comunque buon rapporto qualità prezzo

I have tried a few different makes and they all sound pretty good. These are fine as an alternative to aquilas. Slightly different tone but highly recommended.

Not a big fan of these strings. I wanted a warmer sound from my spruce top Lanikai tenor but these just sound flat. I don't like the wound 3rd C string. It is very twangy and rings too long.

Bought these to replace my very worn Aquila wound C strings on a cheap £60 Bluemoon tenor uke. I'm very happy with the sound, fat, mellow and warm. Make sure and take the time to warm them up before even attempting to tune them to standard tuning, as with all nylon strings. I would personally recommend DGBE and bring it up slowly to GCEA over a few hours. The wound C will settle in a week or so and won't need much attention after that. - If (as a previous poster has stated) it goes flat then sharp it is more than likely the string sticking in the nut slots. If you haven't used a wound C string in the past it might be worth while just opening up the nut slot slightly. I actually put a whole new bone nut on mine to replace the hollow plastic one. We've used D'Addario's for years on all our guitars and will definitely be buying these again.

The set of strings I received broke before I could get them into a standard tuning, except for the "C" string. Even if they didn't snap in half, they are too narrow to be played comfortably. It's a shame too, D'Addario's other Uke strings have been great over the years.
