After playing uke for 25yrs only using GHS strings, I finally got a premium Kanile'a ukulele and put my same ones on. The uke didn't sound great and I was puzzled why. I began to doubt my trusty GHS strings and look at these clear nylons recommended by Jake Shimabakuro. I put them on today and wow, my Kanile'a sounded like a Kanile'a should sound.I've been short-changing myself, my previous ukes, and any gig I've ever played all these years. I couldn't stop playing for about 2 hours. Playability is smooth, easy, and the tone these can bring out of your uke is amazing. Definitely buying more sets of these for my other ukuleles.

The strings are nice quality and sound just fine. They each had their own color tag which was listed on the box to tell them apart. The strings were also excessively long, so if you are very neat at putting them on it would almost be possible to get a second set out of them depending on the scale length of your uke. Would recommend and would buy again.

I bought these recently to replace Aquila 7U Concert strings that were getting bit on my cats when I leave out my ukulele. After about a week of them stretching and holding tune, I came to the conclusion that I don't like nylon strings and bought another set of Aquila 7Us. I miss the sustain that nylgut strings have compared to nylon. Plus, nylon has a more dampened sound I think. Overall, they are fine strings and not bad to learn on since they might be easier to play on and move around with (with left hand) and have less tension. Since they were less than 6 bucks, it wasn't a total loss. I found out I just don't like the sounds that nylon brings even with this well made pair of strings.

nice strings - do I prefer them more than aquilas? Not really, they just sound a little different but are very good.

More lively and musical than many other strings. Most uke now come with Aquila strings. I really like there real gut strings but there other strings are just ok I think. They also had known problems with some "red" strings and still kept sending them out apparently.I know because I had some break without cause when new. On the other hand I have has D'addrio on guitars and banjos and never had a single problem with any off them.Once I put these on my uke it became like a new uke, if you hit a single string or make it bend you hear it. Not so much with the other brand. I also hear a little more volume. They have a different fell to them. not good nor bad.Don't worry about the size etc just follow the number 1-4 to restring. It is simple if you have never done it before. I kind of like the looks of these clear strings but I will buy more and put them on my other ukes. They are made in the U.S by the way.

Not much to say really. They're ukulele strings. They went on my ukulele and I can strum they. Everything I hoped for in a set of strings. I bought these because my personal preference is nylon strings. All the strings sound nice together. Originally my uke came with 2 nylon and 2 steel. This was odd to me. Now I feel my ukulele is better than the day I purchased it.

These strings are great, they improve the sound greatly, and they make your uke louder and more resonant. As they are classical guitar strings they will make the sound a little different but not by much and it is all improvement.NOTE: These are classical guitar strings, and each of them are individually packaged in classical guitar string envelope. You are to use the 2 high E strings as your 1st and 4th string. Use the 3rd guitar string as your C and i think you can figure out the rest.

These are excellent strings for the money. Great quality and a good sound create the best possible value. I have trusted D'Addario to make quality products for whatever instrument I am playing.

I just finished installing my new strings, and I'm in love! I wasn't sure what strings to get at first. People insisted I go with the Aquila, but after doing more research on my own I stumbled upon a video that shows what strings Jake Shimabukuro uses. He uses classical guitar strings with hyper tension. Luckily, D'Addario Pro Arte does all the work for me and chose which guitar strings I needed that fits my concert ukulele. When you get the package it has the cover just like in the product picture, but inside the packet it will say classical guitar strings. That's how it's supposed to be. I believe the first review didn't do his homework before making his purchase. You're suppose to use the classical guitar string E for G and A on your ukulele. Then use B for your E string, and use G for your C string. There is a big improvement with the sound. I really thought there wouldn't be, but I'm just blown away. I may try the Aquila string down the road, but right now I'm extremely happy with my purchase. If you're thinking about getting a new string I'd definitely recommend this.
