This is my first introduction to DACs. It increased the volume of the CD player I connected it to. It sounded like it added some bass to the sound. The price was decent for an entry level DAC.

I really like the build quality and look of this DAC, I use it with a USB to digital adapter on my laptop and also with a discman paired with a 3.5 to digital out cable. There isn't a giant improvement in audio quality, but I did notice that I do get greater clarity and detail when using it.

I used this optical to 3.5mm converter to connect my Samsung TV audio to an old speaker, and the sound is clear. Love the volume control knob - it's easy to adjust and works perfectly.Just remember to set your TV audio format to PCM for it to work.
