This reel is a Japanese version and had to be shipped by Amazon Japan. Took a long time to arrive but worth the wait. It is extremely smooth to crank and the drag is wonderful - smooth and easy to adjust. Build quality is everything that I expected after reading several reviews both on Amazon and other places. I'm very happy with this reel.

very smoothvery light, my wrists are old and love this feature. its crazy light.shallow spool is perfect for lighter pound test line.drag is very good and satisfying click.I put this on a Shakespeare micro series 4.6' rod, and it feels really good. perfect kayak panfish setup. Casts ultra light tackle with ease.

I purchased a '23 LT 2000 S-XH size which has the shallow spool in 6.2:1 gear ratio with 5+1 bearings. This is a fantastic reel for the price point. It is very light at only 6.1 oz and it's buttery smooth and is very quiet with no sloppiness or noises or mechanical grinding etc. It has a good amount of drag at 11 lbs so you can still fight larger fish. I put this reel on a 6 ft light fast action spinning rod with 10 lbs braid and it casts even small 1/16 jigs very well and it's just a fantastic setup for the lures I like to use. I've had a blast reeling in so many fish while using this reel this spring and I've caught dozens of fish with this reel with absolutely 'zero' issues or any complaints! It's a great reel loaded with a lot of features and it fishes like a much more expensive reels for what you pay (about $75) with tax. The performance, tolerances and the quality are just excellent and it's a very handsome looking reel too. I look forward to many more trips on the water using this reel and making memories!!! I do highly recommend this reel for any and all anglers...beginners to even experienced or longtimers like me. Best of luck reeling in your trophy!

Great reel - although a bit shalow for the amount of line that it can fit, it will get the job done especially for ultralight fishing.

This daiwa reel reels in smooth. Drag is smooth. The handle, the bail & the spool is solid with zero play or wiggle. Also great value

The reel is super smooth and well build. Even my 10 yrs old daughter can tell the legalis is much better than my shimano combo wheels. Highly recommended in 100 dollars range!
