Never heard of this brand before buying. It is so quiet! I used it on the auto function so it would determine if fan or AC needed to be used. I will most likely replace the other brand I bought for the bedrooms with this brand due to how quiet it runs.

Midea's Danby's sister co. Danby is Canadian owned by Midea, so you can get Danby cheaper usually and the A/C is similar the remote is the same one as Midea or Keystone just different branding. I hear they work on all three by a YouTuber The Danby has a two-year warranty though without any service centers if I need to get it fixed I'm screwed. I'm just hoping that won't be necessary. I'd have the same issue with Midea or Keystone but with less warranty as there's are only a year. I like the remote better than the Frigidaire Gallery as the one the Danby replaced. I haven't tried the app yet as I just set the temp at 70 and leave it on eco-mode. This A/C is in my office/slash bedroom, which keeps it cool for now. The inverter seems to put out much colder air than my Frigidaire which didn't have one. I'm not into the apps unless I go on vacation. The Frigidaires app was glitchy and seemed to be always disconnecting and then you would have to go through adding a new device and starting over. I don't know about the 07 error on the Danby as I haven't got it yet. I think most companies seem to have some bad units. We also have a Haier we need to replace [GE] is owned by them and it sucks we have had it 2 years[ Extended warranty is useless] So I think it's a gambit you just dunno and hope to get lucky. We may replace the Haier with a Danby after I get this paid off IF it works as it is now.

The unit is much more compact than my last AC unit and produced a lot less noise. the auto swing on the ducting is also a nice touch that moves the air through the room evenly. The delivery was fast and although the box looked a bot rough on the outside the unit was well protected and all the parts were accounted for.The small amount of assembly was straight forward and after waiting the 6 hours ( as specified on the cord tag) I plugged it in, and the unit fired right up and was blowing very cold air. I would recommend and/or buy again.

Couldn't be easier to assemble and install using a mount to make sure it's very secure. A few bits to screw onto the unit, then seal it in with some duct tape and it's good to go. I let it settle in place for a few hours before turning it on, but when I did it started up right away and started spitting cold air.I have it cooling a medium sized bedroom and an adjacent slightly larger sitting room. On the lowest fan setting, it is completely silent from the next room and cools it very adequately. In the late afternoon when the sun is on that side of the house, turning the fan up compensates for the extra heat, and even then the noise level it's barely noticeable. From within the bedroom itself it is detectable, but still makes less noise than any fan or AC I've ever had before. You hear some typical AC noises like moving liquids and the odd trickle of water out the back, but with the fan on low it's the best sleeping experience on a hot night I have ever had. It can keep the room downright frigid if you set it low enough, and it's literally barely a whisper noise-wise.Even more awesome is that there's no compressor in it, so there's no big "kick" in power use, noise, or the physical thump of a conventional AC unit. It just kinda kicks it up a tiny little bit, gets ever so slightly louder, and then gracefully goes back to being super quiet when it's cooling cycle is done. And for a cherry on top, the remote has a button that lets you turn the LED display off completely, so it's doesn't cause any light pollution in the bedroom (aside, frustratingly, from the small green LEDs on the plug-end. Thankfully my outlet is in a closet so I get very little light leaking in, but others with outlets in the room will need to live with it or tape them over.An excellent AC unit so far at a surprisingly good price for how expensive everything else has gotten. $370 for 10,000 BTUs is almost exactly what a similar unit would have sold for pre-COVID and pre-inflation.

I've had many ACs throughout the years, from portable to a few window ones. This Danby has been the best so far. It is quiet, efficient, and cools really fast. My bedroom has my gaming rig, my OLED tv and also a laptop. When these things are turned on, my room gets extremely hot. This AC cools much quicker than my old Dandy 6000 btu, and it is significantly quieter in doing so. It almost feels like it is too strong for my bedroom. So far i am extreme happy with it, for the price you cant go wrong.

Like: Easy to install (but I have installed 4 over the years)... I do have to cut wood and frame as my windows slide "left and right" not vertical. Very Quiet compared to my 8000 btu Gree AC window unit.Dislike: For 10000 BTU it does not seem to push air out and cool my room as good as my Gree 8000 AC BTU, I was a bit surprised by that, so I add an extra "fan" near the AC unit to push are thru the area and that works fine.Only gets hot here 3-4 weeks a year, so unit will not get used much, that's fine, bought to just take the edge of heat wave occurances.

So much quieter than the regular window unit it replaced. Quickly cools the room back down. They work so well I ended up also replacing our other older three with these.
