I love these! The only thing I don't like is after some consistent use (about a year) they do separate from the holder. Otherwise, I love using these in our pool for exercising.

They enable a total body workout for aerobics, resistance training, and stretching. Eliminate the word dumbbells- in our minds this limits their abilities. They are Water Athletic Trainers! (WATS- 'Honey, I'm going to work out some WATS!' sounds a little stronger than 'aqua bells'. They offer support, resistance, and a fulcrum to rotate around. Unlike gym machines these get more of the body with each exercise and you can go seamlessly from one exercise to another. You can do movements you could never do on land. get some tunes n dance and twist. You need to add water- but a medium sized hot tub could do. (40" deep x 72" wide.) One simple exercise that gets most of the body: Stand with legs slightly wider than shoulders, hold your WATS, with arms extending out to your sides, and then twist from side to side with the WATS below the water. Bend you knees a bit and make a slight lunge at the end of each twist. Gets, feet, legs, hips, abdomen, back, arms, shoulders and neck. Add some pipe insulating foam or a slice of water noodle to the handles for a wider grip provides exercise for the forearms and is easier on arthritic fingers. Cost- money very well spent! I have used public pool ones and my own for years. I have never seen one wear out. They do break with the endcaps coming off and your floats floating away, but a few twists of duct tape around the bar end fixes this in seconds. They do make floats hexaginal which offer more water resistance, more stability on top of the water, and don't blow away as easily. Have fun!

I bought these dumbbells for myself, hoping to tone my upper body doing water aerobics while kids swim in the pool. They are light weight, made out of foam, easy to grip. They dry fast, they float well and provide good resistance underwater.

I really like these aqua dumbells. When they're underwater they give you alot of tension and you can do many different exercises with them. They have been a great tool for my physical therapy.
