I was told by daystar that this pn was for a 1999 jeep xj with 4.0 /aw4 . This one is symmetrical instead of offset. It doesn't work. Maybe the wrong part was packaged at factory. I dunno

99 jeep cherokee, 5 speed manual trans, 4.0l rough country long arm lift kit/crossmember, daystar motor mounts (poly) makes a big difference off road, feels more solid, takes the slop out of factory rubber mounts which move alot, a little more cab vibrations not alot, some modifications needed to install (enlarging bolt holes to transmission side) not a big deal, well worth the hassle. (Bolts that connect mount to crossmember need wider washers, lock washers don't secure mount to crossmember enough and will pull through) but this trans mount has survived really harsh conditions (oil saturation and many extreme off roading trips) and still feels like day 1. I also have a 98 jeep xj 4.0l automatic trans, rough country long arm/crossmember, this mount will not work. Use the taller offset mount. (Same modifications are needed to bolt holes, and wider washers). Not alot of good info out there for what will work for your transmission mount especially with aftermarket crossmember/transfer case drops

The mount was shorter than my factory mount ( roughly 3/4 inch) but it still came out alright. Almost acted like a transfercase drop but without losing ground clearance.

Finally got around to installing this tranny mount in my 2000 JEEP CHEROKEE. Mount fit absolutely perfect. Not sure why others had issues but maybe this is a 00-01 mount.Only drawback to this mount is it is polyurethane vs the stock rubber mount. This translates into HEAVY vibrations from the transmission transfered into the vehicle. It has gotten better as I have broken it in, but I am missing my stock mount and it was completely roached.I am going to be on the look out for an aftermarket RUBBER mount.

Really not sure if I like this mount yet.... will live with it for a while until I decide whether to keep it on my XJ or not...?This mount is a centered one and fits 2000 or 2001 XJ's to my understanding. It lost some points due to the fact that it is advertised as fitting an XJ, which it will, but only after you modify it.Pro's....A solidly built mount that looks like it will be very durable and last a long time.Con's....The two main larger bolt holes are too far apart and need to be elongated inwards about a 1/16th" to get the bolts in.The hole that matches the transmission mount index location dimple is about half a diameter out, which is a lot...! Both these issues require quite a bit of work with a round file to correct. The black rubber / poly material was not finished off properly on the back of the mount resulting in the mount not sitting flat against its mounting plate. I removed this with a knife to make it flat, but it shouldn't be necessary to fix this manufacturing sloppiness. Daystar's XJ extended rear bump stops also had the same issue. The mount comes with 4 standard nyloc nuts, but because of the oversized holes in the crossmember, these are not a good solution without washers which are obviously difficult to use here. They should have included larger flange nuts and I will probably find some from somewhere. I couldn't use the original flange nuts because the threads are different on this mount. The mount, because its close to 1" shorter than stock drops the tranny case down, which is not a problem for me, but it also brings the exhaust pipe extremely close to the crossmember. I don't believe its quite touching yet, but with use, I could see that they may touch at some point which is definitely not good. The mount definitely firms up the feel of the driveline in use which is nice, but also transmits quite a lot more noise and vibration into the cabin, especially when in neutral or park. This is fine for a competition vehicle, but I will have to wait and see if it annoys me as I also use my XJ as a daily driverI wish someone made a mount like this style, but using rubber instead of poly to make it a little more forgiving and with a 1/2" to 3/4" drop to keep the exhaust pipe away from the crossmember. Most of the currently available mounts are a little flimsy and soft IMHO, but this one seems to go a little too far in the other direction.............................................................................Update.... after a few miles, I have removed this mount and gone back to a stocker. Although I liked the tightness it brought to the drive-line, the noise, vibration and harshness created was not worth it for me. It made practically every interior bit of trim rattle or buzz...! Whats worse, upon inspection of the mount after a few miles, the bottom metal stud plate had separated from the rubber at the front and there was about a quarter inch gap there.... all of the weight of the transmission was only on the back of the mount. This is because this is a parallel faced mount, but the transmission comes down at an angle. The stock XJ has a little angle which the stock mount easily copes with.... this mount effectively drops the transmission best part of an inch over stock and if you also use a tranny dropper for a lift kit, it makes it even worse. This mount cannot cope with that angle and the metal breaks away from the rubber.... at least it did on my sample. With everything considered, I cannot recommend this mount in any way.... a shame.

This is just the right mount after adding my long arm kit. The crossmember for it is drilled on center. The factory crossmember was offset. Using this mount got my drive shaft back to center with my aftermarket crossmember.

Worked great on my Cherokee. They are nice and sturdy. I did have to drill out the transmission mount to tighten the bolts a bit because the socket didn't go into the holes beyond that worked great.

It will fit in a 2000 xj with a little modifacation. If your stock mount is not shifted mine wasn't so a little work with a grinder on the exhost plat and it slips right in took fifteen minuts with a grinder and it fit. If you don't like any vibration at idle then don't buy this mount but if you don't mind the vibration then its a really good mount and it drops your tcase down 1 inch so its a great mount if you don't wanna put a tcase drop kit in

As other reviewers stated, this mount is not offset. I checked my mount before ordering, it was centered, so I bought it.Just got done installing, and again, like one of the reviewers mentioned, one of the alignment holes do not match and will require you to open the hole so the mount can properly seat. I used a rotary tool and a grinder bit, took longer than I wanted. if you have the right tools, it may go faster for you. i'll attach a photo. One big thing to mention is that this mount is about 1" shorter than stock. This effectively lowered the Tranny and transfer case. This could be considered a good thing if you were planning on doing a tc drop anyway. I wasn't expecting this, but oh well. I suppose I could raise my jeep another inch now lol.Started the jeep up and noticed it indeed transferred engine vibes up into the cabin, though it wasn't horrible. remember, this is a poly mount, not rubber. drove it around the neighborhood, good and solid. my old mount was half torn, allowed the engine to move forward and the fan to hit the shroud under heavy load, now its good.I would give this 4 stars, but the extra work grinding out the hole and it being 1" shorter minus 1 star.
