Ordered this for a 1989 Evinrude motor. Looked identical to the original. Mounted it to the motor and it runs like a charm.

Excellent replacement for an Evinrude 40HP Outboard Motor. The key is that all the boltholes line up perfectly with the original part. It is working perfectly and the cost was excellent. Would definitely buy again but here's hoping that will not be for another 20 years.

Came quickly,but was delivered to the neighbour 4 apartments down.had to modify the engine housing and re route the fuel lines but if I can anyone can.only downfall was the gear wasn't brass.looks to be a great replacement.

Starter quit working in 3 weeks. You get what you pay for. Lucky I was at my dock trying to start my boat and not on the lake. Spend the extra money for a oem starter

Not that it was a huge deal but I had to disassemble and rotate/index the case 180 degrees to get the the +lug in the proper position, see photo. More than likely they're all like that or I'm extremely unlucky, this is something that the average person wouldn't want to deal with. Other than that it works excellent.
