Got this adapter to connect my older serial devices to my laptop. It's very plug-and-play, worked right away with my HDMI switch setup. The build quality feels solid, and the connection is stable. Would recommend.

Plugged it into a Windows 10 computer and it was immediately detected and the proper driver loaded.Used it with a console cable to access a router and it all went smoothly.

Like some folks, I do still have a few field systems that require a RS232 connection. Most of the time their in a control cabinet, so I have to take my laptop out there and make adjustments, etc.Problem is that getting a laptop with a Serial input is very rare nowadays. And this makes it easy. The length of the cable makes it better and easier to use.I usually prefer the FTDI chips, but these are OK.
