I'm not sure why they are advertising this as sun protection. You would need to fold it about 4 times to limit the sun. It does work as a row cover if you want to keep the birds out, however. A bit disappointing.

This did not have a percentage of sun block listed. I still don’t know what it is, but I do know what it works well for. I live in the SW and we’ve already had some days in the 80’s in April. I wanted to give my tomatoes, peppers and other warm season veggies a little help when transplanting. I have some heavy sun cloth (50%) but that seemed too much. So I got some of this non woven fabric. It seems very thin, but it holds up pretty well, cuts easily and stores in a small area. I am amazed how well it has functioned protecting my new transplants from too much sun and has done a good job cutting down on the wind. It’s inexpensive, and if it’s too light for the July heat we get, that’s OK. I will have new transplants out several times a year.

The only reason I took a star off is because I don't believe this will last very long for what you will pay for it. It is lightweight, which is obviously great for plants, but it is quite fragile, and I don't know how long it will hold up, honestly. We'll see, I guess. If it does well I will come back and update my review.

Good deal for a good sized shade cloth. It is very thin, which can be good or bad. Need to take a bit of care to not rip the fabric, and it will not provide a lot of shade. For me, this will work very well though to protect my lettuce and other veggies during heat spells which seem to become more frequent recently. I don't need complete shading, just reflecting part of the sunlight should help to keep the temperatures reasonable and reduce the unwanted bolting and flowering that otherwise occurs.I am somewhat concerned about how it will hold up to wind, it definitely needs to be attached/clamped well to prevent it from flying off.

This is normally $11.99 which is too expensive for what you get. It reminds me of the sheet you sit on at the doctors office. I think it can be practical for some gardens, but it’s not going to work for me, mostly due to aesthetics.

I ordered this cloth to use with my grow lights. I have a lot of plants on a steel wire rack with added grow lights. For my full sun loving plants this is great. My indirect but bright sun loving plants are not as happy, so I have had to place them on the floor and nearby table where they get the residual light. I also tried using wax paper to cut down on the brightness but that mitigates the full spectrum light that they need. I love that this cuts down on the intensity of the light but still allows the much needed spectrums to get through. I cut it to size and attached it to the strip light casing (like a long fluorescent shop light). The lights are LED and do not get hot so I feel safe in doing so. I would not do this with any kind of light that produces heat.Once summer gets underway, I plan on using the remainder of the cloth outside with my outdoor fruits and veggies that get too much afternoon blazing sun (I planter garden).
