I’m cautiously optimistic that this is going to keep debris out of my window ac. I took it out of the window and had to clean the whole inside out which was no easy feat. The compressor was making a terrible noise but after spraying the insides down with warm water and getting all the moldy leaves and god knows what else out, it’s working again. I put this cover on so I wouldn’t have to go through that ordeal again.Make sure you know the size of the back part of your ac before ordering. You have some give because it’s fabric. So if your ac is a little wider than 17”, but it’s not as tall, this will still fit. What you want is for it to be close but as long as the total length around the ac is less than the total length of the cover 17*2 + 13*2 =60”, this will fit. I put it on my 5000 btu ac.It is deeper than I expected. I should have trimmed off some of the extra but I didn’t think of it in time. I just tucked the extra bits in.The straps are decent but I do wonder if just having the side to side straps is enough to stop it from blowing away in the wind. I’m hoping it will be but more security would have made me have higher hopes. Like some magnets on the inside of the case. It just seems like it could slip off too easily in bad weather. We get tornado weather here and I’m not sure if it will hold up.Time will tell though. It’s on there for the moment.
